This whole "It needs to be structural to exist" is a new invention since openly hating on your typical "heterosexual white straight cis man" became mainstream. It's am excuse to be racist or misandrist towards white people or men respectively and to still portray yourself as the victim who just fights the villain. Never before was the structural element necessary for spotting racism and the equals.

Even though, when you think about it, with every governmental agency and corporation agreeing that "power to women, down with the patriarchy", I wouldn't be so sure that there is no structural misandry.

Misandry exists. Whenever people claim it doesn't, they will always point to the past of systematic sexism (no voting rights etc).

It's the same with racism, people will always point to the past.

Fact is, misandry on an individual level exists and in a lot of cases in western countries is Systematic (divorce custody cases are a prime example).

Don't engage with those that deny the existence as they are misandrist.

Her view is what's dubbed cultural marxism or identity politics. In this case men are the oppressors (bourgeois) and women are the oppressed (proletariat). Oppression is power + prejudice. As women have no power (in their view, due to the 'patriarchy') they cannot be 'misogynist' to men. Or in other words, misandry doesn't exist.

This ideology maps over to racism. I would place a bet that this person doesn't belive one can be racist against white people.
