There's two parts to the statement that need to be addressed seperately.

A: Men do not hate women, they have a statistical group preference for women. This is a projection from an individual woman who hates men.

B: Hating an entire group because of something an individual within that group has done is prejudicial towards that group.

In my experience, it's actually completely reversed. Men get angry and frustrated by the way they are treated by women, and they are called misogynists for expressing their feelings. The hate that most women have for men is far more deep-rooted. They hate and vilify men for having a sexuality, or being interested in women, and that is a part of who they are.

They are opposite sides of sexism.

Anyone who takes bad experiences and truly believes the whole gender is bad because of that is sexist.

Misandry/misogyny can come from how you've been treated by the opposite sex for sure but this is just demonising men.

This is an anti feminist board, not anti woman. That being said, misandrists usually believe they haven’t done anything to men to deserve the dislike.

They are basically claiming to be innocent and free of all responsibility.

I think telling another group why they hate something is pretty fucking stupid. Especially when that group doesn’t hate people as a group. Some of the individuals in the group end up hating women. But acting like it’s a group-wide thing is just sexist.

Both of these terms contain the same meaning for both genders. By definition, they both explain a prejudice towards the given gender, for no other reason than to be prejudiced. There is nothing more to the definitions. It’s the same as racism, being prejudiced towards someone simply because of their race or ethnicity. It’s being prejudiced to someone simply because of the state in which they were born and can not change. It’s simply a bending of definitions for individual narrative with no backing whatsoever. Based only upon how this individual feels to label others and elevate themselves.

Comparing personal hate with a stereotype. I think this says more about the misandry of the speaker than it does about misandry. There is no shortage of women who hate men for who they are.

Most cases of violent misandry have proved to be the result of long-term sexual abuse, leading to mental illness. Most cases of violent misogyny are the result of cultural bias and peer group approval.
