Men aren’t going to be there for women in traditional ways and most feminists I know are losing their $hit over it.

  • 'THEY WEREN'T SAINTS'
  • Barini’s older sister, who only identified herself as Sally, told the New York Post that the sex worker is planning to appeal her sentencing.

  • She branded the sentence a "little harsh".

  • Sally said: “They weren’t saints. They went with her. They wanted to party and they wanted to do drugs with her and have sex.

  • “It wasn’t like she put a gun to somebody’s head and forced them to go with her.”

  • Sally claimed that Barini is a drug addict.

  • But, Judge Brian Cogan said: “There is no level of disadvantage of being raised that can mitigate what you did her.

  • “Drug addiction or no drug addiction, something has to kick in.”

Well, I guess it was OK then. /s

The UK really hates putting women in prison, let's hope she does not get out on appeal.

I think this happened in America?

[–]tenchineuro 39 points40 points41 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Apparently this is the case...

  • Angelina Barini, of Queens, admitted to distributing drugs laced with fentanyl and the date-rape drug GBL between July and August 2019.

Queens is a New York City borough on Long Island.

If she's going to spend 30 years in jail, I hope the other inmates and the guards make a living hell of her life and beat the crap out of her so bad she wishes she was dead.

U know women prison is like summer school. With bullies

[–]reddboy1981 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I've seen parallel conditions in us prisons on documentaries here in the UK from what I've seen women get better food conditions and treatment by gaurds it's probably the same here in our prisons too add to that the sentence is often much lower for female offenders

Her sister's logic:“It wasn’t like she put a gun to somebody’s head and forced them to go with her.”

Imagine if someone goes around poisoning people's drink and say "It wasn't like i put a gun on their head and force them to drink, they wanted to drink, those thirsty pigs!"

[–]May097 14 points15 points16 points 4 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

It should be murdering prostitute

I can imagine the headline in a woke newspaper-

MURDERING PROSTITUTE, LOOK HOW THE TABLES HAVE TURNED

I don't think there is evidence she planned to kill them so I suppose it's fair.

She's appealing with typical victim blaming:

Barini’s older sister, who only identified herself as Sally, told the New York Post that the sex worker is planning to appeal her sentencing. She branded the sentence a "little harsh".Sally said: “They weren’t saints. They went with her. They wanted to party and they wanted to do drugs with her and have sex.“It wasn’t like she put a gun to somebody’s head and forced them to go with her.”Sally claimed that Barini is a drug addict. But, Judge Brian Cogan said: “There is no level of disadvantage of being raised that can mitigate what you did her.“Drug addiction or no drug addiction, something has to kick in.”

So I guess their lives are worth less because they liked to party and have sex.

Before he was drugged, she and her ex-boyfriend allegedly lured him to a seedy room, according to court filings cited by the New York Daily News.

Sounds like planning to me. Planning a theft from an unconscious victim, with another party/perpetrator "lying in wait". Also, any death during the commission of another crime is still homicide/murder... Too bad that her crime went "sideways". She, and her ex, are still responsible for anything that happens during their illicit behavior/act. "I didn't mean to kill them" isn't a reasonable justification, nor is it an acceptable legal defense against murder charges.

I don't know about the law in any of the UK but in America, if you commit a crime and anyone dies because of it regardless of whether or not you killed them or who they were, you have to serve a minimum of 50 years with a minimum of 30 years for parole, which makes this even more baffling based on how short the sentence is.

[–]BrickDaddyShark 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Depends what state and degree, things “going south” usually means 2nd or 3rd degree.

[–]digos_ 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Are you sure this is true…have you not heard of manslaughter…that’s like a max 10 year sentence. And that is exactly what you described a crime in which someone dies…but even worse as a direct result of you.

[–]sgtm7 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You don't know much about "American" law either, because unless it is a federal prosecution, there are no national minimum sentencing laws. It will depend on the laws of the particular state.

[–]raclnp 10 points11 points12 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Disgusting remarks. I don't understand why this isn't called out publicly more.

If it weren't for double standards, some people wouldn't have any standards at all. Let's be real here. Great example.... Bill Cosby & Cardi B

[–]Great_Disruptor 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Bill Cosby is free now.

[–]Miss_Cherise_ 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Correct. Not sure if there was more to your sentence or not.

[–]vwatchrepair 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If a woman simply heard a man say he was going to give a woman a date rape drug, the rage meter would be pegged. But, this.....meh. Absolutely mind boggling. Wow.

Just wait, the feminists will throw her a party.

Let’s hope she gets what she deserves. Life in prison is the only real option

[–]Great_Disruptor 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It was likely classified as manslaughter because it might not have been intentional, she gave them fentanyl-laced drugs and GBL (date-rape drug). Thanks Cardi B!
