I hate condoms and can't "work" with one on and if there are pills, I would take them without any issues. It is absolute garbage that we will not take them. Please make a pill with not too crazy side affects (last one I heard could actually kill you, so not that), but some discomfort/issues will be tolerated for sure. I believe that every responsible men will be happy to take them. Not sure why nobody made one so far, but 100% there is market for it.

If you bothered to listen we've been waiting for RISUG/Vasalgel FOREVER! But pharmaceutical companies don't want it because it will cause women in committed relationships to drop their $60 a month birth control.

Its gonna be banned in red states and gonna stay in blue states from the looks of it. So abortion is going to be quite difficult, but not impossible.

Men on the other hand are still screwed no matter what with absolutely no rights, so post after post regarding this is quite annoying.

Roe v Wade being reversed and local state laws changes almost nothing for men. Hermesmann v Seyer not being reversed should influence men to take a pill/vasogel much more.

I'll start this off as saying that I can't remember the source (if anyone knows what I'm referring to here then thanks), but a few years ago there was an article on the latest attempt to develop a male birth control pill. They project was cancelled when several of the test subjects developed severe depression - just to be clear we're not talking 'got a bit sad' there it was more on the lines of 'major medical problem, several of them attempted suicide'. As men don't experience as significant or regular hormonal cycle as women do it looks like attempts to modify male chemistry to work as a contraceptive are going to come with some major, potentially fatal, side effects.

That's what people mean when they use the rather dismissive 'Oh, men just won't take it!' line. For anyone who spends much time here the idea that something like that would be minimised and used to mock men shouldn't be too much of a surprise.

On a related side note how many women claim that they need unimpeded access to abortion because they 'forgot to take their pill' or 'don't want to go on birth control'? If 'men won't take it' (taken in the full context explained above) is enough of a reason to dismiss attempts to develop a male pill then is women refusing to use the female birth control pill enough of a reason to dismiss that medication too?

If a woman wants to get pregnant and get child support whether by lying about her birth control use or by stealing a guy’s sperm, the legal status of abortion is irrelevant.

If a man doesn’t want to be financially responsible for a child he needs to ensure a woman can’t get pregnant by him. This is true regardless of the legal status of abortion. I did this by having a vasectomy. If I didn’t have a vasectomy and there was an effective, safe birth control pill for men, I’d gladly take it.

Id be down to take one but I wouldn't buy into the hysteria. Use multiple forms of birth control you will be fine. Ive been cumming inside women for 20 years. They have been on birth control I used a condom or both. Never even a scare. There's always plan b on top of that. Dont buy into the hysteria. People in the USA act like they are the only country in the world. The EU has strict abortion laws and we can draw plenty of data from them.

I think a condom is sufficient, so I don't see the need for a pill.

Repealing Roe won't really change anything in this area. Even if the option of an abortion is available, it's always the woman's choice to make.

I'm a woman so I can't answer this directly but I've had a few run ins, when I was single, with men who completely refused to wear a condom. I refused to have sex without one- so it wasn't a match. I've not been with a mountain of different partners so those 3 guys are a large ratio of my sexual (or almost sexual) encounters. My limited perspective is that most men don't want the responsibility of birth control, much less one that comes with as many side effects as hormones. I don't think it should be solely on women but it is pretty deeply ingrained into social expectations that we'll handle it.

When I dont to have a baby I simply don't make one. Killing your unborn child will ALWAYS be legal. Even if that means you have to go one state over.
