How can you know sex is overrated if you’ve never had sex?

Whether it's overrated or not is an opinion so it will always depend on the person. For me sports cars are overrated, but to someone else they might be their number 1 hobby. I used to be religious and I remember how much I hated how society puts so much pressure on men to want and to have sex. People still use virgin or incel as a way to insult men. With all that fuss over sex you would think it'd be better than it actually is. Its good but it's not that good. And both sexes overhype sex.

For women they are generally the gatekeepers of sex. This gives them some control over men they otherwise wouldn't have. By overhyping sex, this gives them more power because men will be willing to do more things in order to get sex. And once you finally get it, you may realize it wasn't worth all that effort.

For men it's simply just a stupid competition thing. If a man has a lot of sex he'll want to hype sex up so it'll seem like he achieved something great and is betther than you, when all he really did was jump through some woman's hoops.

So in conclusion, sex is great, but don't fall for all the bullshit over it. And don't let women or men manipulate you with it. It's not worth it THAT much.

Probably because if you lived in a monastery you were taught to eliminate desire. I noticed the best years of my life were 4-12 when I didn't even care about such things but I guess those years would be completely different anyway.

Sex is different for everyone (most people like/love it, some are addicted to it, and some feel less urges than most)

I think it's great that you're not obsessing over sex, like many other men and teenagers are, but you shouldn't say anything about it before you get the chance to try it for yourself.

(My mindset was always: "if it happens it happens". I think chasing after sex or always thinking about sex when meeting a girl/guy is very unhealthy and I'm glad you're not going that route)

However I think sex is absolutely incredible once you meet a person that you truly love.

You're still young so don't stress about it. I can guarantee you , you will eventually find a person you'll be excited to do it with.

Im tornon this. Because yeah the feeling of horniness is much higher than the sex itself is good, but than again its still really good and its a beautiful thing. Sex isn’t overrated, you’ve been brainwashed. Sex is a primal need. Men who don’t desire sex are questionable because they are denying their primal needs. Yes, I think sex is like drugs. Though I've done neither, I've been around people who have. They're not happy, not fulfilled. Just the opposite. They're desperate to keep the 'high' going. It's unsustainable. And the high is superficial.

The OP said a line that I've said so many times. There is a whole world out there that most men don’t tap into. They're too obsessed with their superficial addiction, while I've been getting satisfying pleasure thru my 20's, 30's, oh and my 40's were great, and so memorable. Are you so afraid of yourself that you are afraid to enjoy life? It seems like you're more scared of life and the things outside of your control than anything else… not to be mean but you seem sensitive and a bit cowardly. You are afraid to get hurt. You are afraid to lose control. But you're not in control and you will inevitably get hurt.

You're going to die. I'm going to die. The sun will die. The earth will die.

People can become addicted to anything and they don't often realize till it's too late that's true. But you still have to eat. You still have to live.

You can give people advice of you've never done the thing. You're just talking to your self and just rationalizing your own way of living and hoping people will say how brave you are and give you a pat on the back.

Sex is a great way to connect with some one and see another side of them. When you have sex with another person y'all are seeing something hidden and intimate. You will never know what that's like if you've never done it. To see someone become someone else and they get to see the same from you.

You can't possibly write from a place of authority because you don't understand the nuances. You only have a biased perception of limited personal experience and how you perceive societal norms.
