Predictably, any state that considers making shared parenting law will face protests from NOW. Also predictably, some asshat will argue that the largest feminist organization in the US protesting against equality and men's rights doesn't prove feminism's primary concern is retaining women's privilege.

I'm pretty sure the "best interests of the child" only really apply when they happen to coincide with the best interests of the mother.

Krista Heeren-Graber, executive director of the South Dakota Network Against Family Violence and Sexual Assault, also opposes mandatory shared parenting. In many situations, one person in a relationship might be the victim of abuse or of power and control by the other person.

Gee, I wonder which person she's focusing on.

Which is would be under this. It's just that it'd need to be proven, instead of assumed.

When my parents got divorced I spent half the week with one and half with the other. Saturdays would swap every week. It was the best.
