We aren't 'white-centric' - whatever that means. We just don't care about race. We don't have much to talk about regarding it - though we always note that black men have it a degree worse than white in certain issues. Otherwise, it just doesn't come up unless an SJW is saying all white men need to die. And even there it is the 'men' part that spiked our interest - not the 'white' part.

I'm not a fan of intersectionality, it invariably creates a schism based on which groups can claim the most oppression. I don't think that's useful, I think it permanently alienates a large part of the potential supporters.

If you look at men's issues, many of them do concentrate on disadvantaged men. But fixing the issues affects all men, not just select subsets.

Intersectionality is literally the "divide" part of "divide and rule", the maxim by which the upper class lives since recorded history.

There is only one kind of inequality that really matters, economic inequality.

All the other divisions, no matter if by race, sex, nation, religion, ideology are the most effective tools and means used to create and further economic inequality.

The divisions created by racism, nationalism, religion and political ideology all get a lot of attention and are well covered in mainstream media and there are a lot of main stream initiatives, as boneheaded as they often are, to overcome those.

The divisions created by feminist ideology are not covered, and actually perpetuated and welcomed by main stream culture.

There is no one preventing you from joining here and contributing here if you are non-white. There are also lots of women here, and you can find people from all nations and from all kinds of political affiliations here.

But we are here because of the problems men face. The difference in incarceration is greater between men and women than it is between black and white. White men are imprisoned several times as often as black women.
So the real discrimination is by gender there, not by race.

Intersectionalism is a cancer that has turned feminists against each other and got them all competing in the victimhood Olympics, trying to claim the title of "most victimized".

While feminists are footbulleting, we should appreciate that fact and take full advantage of it. The one thing we should definitely NOT do is start down the same path ourselves.

This is bizarre. According to intersectional theory, white men are the most privileged of all and literally everyone else can talk about their issues except white men because they can't have issues because of excessive privilege.

There are men of color here too. I think MRA's should be very welcome to racial issues also. It's never been clear to me why a 15 year old girl willingly having sex is a rape victim but a 14 year old boy pressured into gang life is a criminal that is potentially tried as an adult.

I would be more than happy to see this community embrace some of the racial issues facing men. Disproportionate sentencing and incarceration rates, discrimination in hiring, etc.

My opinion is no.

There are groups for dealing with issues specific to blacks.

There are groups for dealing with issues specific to trans people.

There are groups for dealing with issues specific to every group.

This should stay a group focused on dealing with issues directed at men.

That being said, we should not stand in the way of groups addressing issues facing them, as long as they, like us, do so without infringing on the rights of others.

If you look at discussions about our issues and only see it as being about, or ALL comments being from, 'white' men then YOU are the problem (generally, not /u/UsedToBeRadical specifically).

Thing is, we're never going to 'acceptable' to feminists, because we undermine their central narrative; that men are privileged and women oppressed.

Bascially Marxism twisted out of recognition, replacing class/wealth with sex/gender. Intersectionality does that, but adds a whole slew of extra layers of misdirection between real issues of inequality.

Embracing intersectionality entails accepting the feminist viewpoint. Trouble is, there are too many examples demonstrating that MEN are not privileged, WHITES are not privileged, STRAIGHTS, CIS, ABLE BODIED... etc etc.

I would say yes. Being a man is an intersection just like being a woman is.

An obvious example: a black man is more likely to face police brutality than a black woman. His intersection is being minority and being a man.

Another obvious example: gay men are targeted for violent hate crimes, lesbian women are not. Again a totally different intersectionality with worse results for men.

There are problems deeper than the ones faced because of race and gender. In many ways, feminism is merely a symptom. The deep, underlying problem that is creating the massive plethora of societal issues that we are facing is Tribalism. Trying to make the MRM intersectional would just make that worse. I know a lot of black men have the same issues white men have, only worse in a lot of cases. I don't need an intersectional mindset to be aware of that. What I need, is to recognize that those men are the same as me - we are on the same team. Intersectionalism just creates a pecking order of peasants and lords. It tears people apart. It doesn't unite them.

I think we should stay away from race and other issues. That ultimately ends up just coopting the issues of other people.

Feminism does this to claim everyone's problems as theirs. I don't want to do that.

A black man faces issues because he's black and a man. Let's focus on the latter and let groups based around race address the former.

I’m a bit late, but as an Asian male, IMO gender is much more of a pressing issue than race.

For instance, visit any Asian sub without oppressive moderation- like r/Asianmasculinity or r/aznidentity

What is the most pressing issue in both subs? Dating. Half the posts there are about the dangers of white-worshipping Asian women, ffs.

Asian men are often stereotyped as meek and emasculated and unattractive. Data shows that non-Asian women consistently gave Asian men bad ratings, and even Asian women rated Asian men worse compared to women of other races rating men of their race. Yes, this issue is made worse for Asian men in particular. But it’s still a man’s issue in the end. The overall trend of women being pickier about their dates than men is the driving force of hypergamy. If society didn’t consider it normal to hate on nice but unattractive guys (visit r/niceguys), men (and Asian men especially) wouldn’t have these problems.

Another Asian issue that commonly comes up is college/ career hiring. Women are now favored at STEM schools- women applicants are twice as likely to get in.

Just think about it. How many white women are there, and how many black/Latino men are there? As a white or Asian male in STEM industry, your job is much more likely to be stolen by a privileged white woman. White women are the undeserving beneficiaries of affirmative action.

Because white men face the lost discrimination in society I’d say, I am a black male and even I can see that. There always painted as evil and I honestly sympathize with them. Tbh when black people go to jail, or rob, or get in gang wars I believe that is a choice they make to not try and work to have a better life. Then we all go and blame it on the white man amh, sorry to all the white men and women out there always getting called “basic crackers” and I’m sorry for all the discrimination YOU face.
