Eh, I'm not all about stroking people's egos just for being people. If you are a king/queen, prove it. Though I agree that one's height shouldn't be a disqualifier.

Yeah, this is basically fast food. And it's not really correct. Size DOES matter to quite a few people, even though it isn't fair.

I'm sorry, but when it comes to heterosexual relationships - women are the only people who get to determine men's value since they have what men want.
[–]HeForeverBleeds 30 points31 points32 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
One of the many reasons why more men are going MGTOW. A woman is only able to determine a man's worth if he lets her
Opt out of that whole imbalanced, prejudice system and a man can feel as good about himself as he wants to, regardless of what any shallow, self-entitled woman might decide about how much she thinks he's worth
[–]FeierInMeinHose 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
It's not a binary, though, completely cutting off any romantic options isn't really healthy, but neither is needing outside validation. You can be self reliant while still being romantically involved with a partner, it will actually make you more likely to get a good partner because manipulative ones won't stick around if they can't find a way to manipulate you.

The post is dreadful.
That being said is right.
Women's opinions are meaningless in regards to determining your worth. Women do not decide if men are valuable, the idea of that is just hilariously laughable.
You matter past your effect on women. There is more to this world than women's happiness.

Would you date a girl with a flat ass and a pair of mosquito bites? Lets be real, your preferences for a nice hip to waist ratio are by no means any different to a woman's preference for height. They're both indicators of physical health in their respective genders.

You don't count, mutant. He's talking about the impossible demands of perfect beauty which men force upon women. We demand absolute 10s, Barbie-doll lookalikes, and refuse to talk to any crone ranking below a 9.8.
And if a woman ranks below a 9.5? She is exiled to The Outer Wastelands to die of exposure. That's why the female half of our society is entirely made up of near-anorexic supermodels with cantaloupe juggs.

Yes. I've dated ugly women and fat women as well. If a below-average-looking woman wants to get laid, she doesn't even need to take a shower.
Lets be real, your preferences for a nice hip to waist ratio are by no means any different to a woman's preference for height.
Men and women prefer different things in each other, no arguments there. The difference is that men find the average woman to be average-looking, whereas women find the average man to be as ugly as shit.

They're not even close. The height "preference" is not a preference. It's a demand. And there are plenty of guys into overweight women. Women only date shorter men in spite of their lack of height, never because of it.
They're both indicators of physical health in their respective genders.
Ah you're too stupid to be worth engaging. Bye.
[–]Ithelda 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (19 children) | Copy Link
I dunno I particularly am attracted to men my height or shorter and not to tall men, and I know a couple other women who are the same. Maybe it's rare but we exist...
[–]electricalnoise 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (18 children) | Copy Link
That's the thing. Sure it exists. There's guys out there who prefer big women too. It's certainly not indicative of the norm.
[–]Ithelda 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (17 children) | Copy Link
Sure, most women seem to gush over tall guys. A couple of these comments though make it sound like an impossibility that women could prefer short men. But maybe I'm just being picky over what was meant to be a generalization
[–]electricalnoise 3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link
Nah you're right. There's a tiny bit of a victim complex about it in this sub. Like, I'm only 5'10" and I've had my share of "10's". There's certainly mitigating factors. A sense of humor does help, as does money lol.
I do tend to believe that it's more the exception than the rule though. Attraction starts with the most basic and obvious aspects.
[–]Ithelda 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Agreed. Are you saying 5'10" is considered short though? That seems crazy to me
[–]fengpi 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link
It kind of is. 5'10" is average height and average height is too short, if that idea isn't too head-spinning. The ideal is 6'2", that's the magic number: 187.9 centimeters, in case it doesn't sound arbitrary enough. These chicks say over and over they want to wear high heels and still have to look up.
What percentage of men in the US are 6'2" or taller? 15%. So 85% of men are sub-human mutants; their inadequate genes can be compensated for by earning ever-larger amounts of money, with the dollar figure increasing on a sliding scale for each inch of height you take-away. A 2005 study of online dating by Hitsch, Hortacsu and Ariely calculated that a man who is 5'6" can be equally attractive as a six-footer if he earns $175,000 a year more than the taller dude. So, you know, these are perfectly sober and rational expectations that women have of men.
This, from the sex which lectures our ears-off ad nauseam about our unrealistic standards of attractiveness.
(I started to become cynical when a bunch of oinking sows wallowing in mud insisted that I was the pig.)
[–]kursdragon 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Not sure at all where you're getting your numbers but only 5% of people in the US are above 6'2". Not sure where you even got close to 15%, but it's WAY lower than that, but on every other point, I agree.
[–]fengpi 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link
You've corrected me, then. Now that I think harder, I sort of recall that the number was (maybe roughly) 15% were over 6 feet, so I suppose I was two inches off.
[–]kursdragon1 point 8 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link
Yea it might be the 6 feet mark you're thinking of, but then again the 6 feet mark is also what most girls look for for some arbitrary fucking dumbass reason, so you were still probably right in saying that 15% of guys are the only ones not considered sub-human
[–]electricalnoise 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
That seems to be the consensus, around here at least. Anything under 6' is unfuckable. Not necessarily in my experience, but it certainly plays a role.
[–]Ithelda 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Well that's a ridiculous standard... I wish I could say most women don't really care that much about height but what do I know, I could just be in my own little world over here
[–]AloysiusC 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
You should say that on r/short.
[–]electricalnoise 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Never been there myself. What do you think the response would be?
[–]AloysiusC 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Not too good. 5'10 is not short, it's average. To say people have a victim complex and you're doing fine since you're "only 5'10" is not going to go down well to men who are short. Kind of like women saying "well I'm not worried about false accusations so man up and stop acting like a victim".
[–]electricalnoise 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You're probably right. Shame me.
[–]AloysiusC 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
A couple of these comments though make it sound like an impossibility that women could prefer short men.
It's not an impossibility. It's also not an impossibility to win the lottery. The bottom line is, regardless of exceptions, it's so unlikely that it may as well be impossible for the vast majority of short men.
That is not the case for overweight women. There are multiple subreddits even dedicated to the worship of such women. Try to find something like that for short men.
[–]Ithelda 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Yeah, that's true, I don't doubt the preference for short men is pretty rare compared to other preferences. I feel like I'm hearing this idea though that short men are basically screwed from finding love or something. Maybe I'm misunderstanding. I find that hard to believe though.
[–]AloysiusC 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Perhaps you find it hard to believe because you've never been and probably never will be in such a situation. The vast majority of women can't even contemplate the brutal amount of rejection that even average men receive. When they say they "can't find a man", they mean the men available aren't up to their standards. I.e. they can't find a man they deem good enough. When men say they can't find a woman, they literally can't find one. They don't even get the chance to expect standards.
Sure, it's not good to dwell on it or tell short men how screwed they are and don't have a chance. At the very least they should try but it's also not fair to give them unrealistic amounts of hope. Perhaps the healthiest approach is to try to find meaning in life elsewhere and see being attractive to women more as a side effect of of that.
Perhaps that's why men have built and created so much that formed civilization itself. Because men do so much more than just reproduce.
[–]Ithelda 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Perhaps you find it hard to believe because you've never been and probably never will be in such a situation
Very true. I think another reason though is when I think about the short guys I've known throughout high school, college, coworkers, family, etc... none of them seem to have had much trouble finding people attracted to them and marrying lovely, beautiful women who adore them. At least not more trouble than the taller guys I know... and none of them are wealthy or anything. That's not to say I haven't heard them complain about being short: I've heard plenty of short guys talk about how they've been teased. And I also know my personal anecdote doesn't mean the rest of the world is like that. Maybe my confusion is this: do you think short men really have that much difficulty finding ANY woman at all (because that does seem hard to believe), or are you saying you think for a short man to be with a woman, chances are that woman had to "settle" and that it sucks to feel like someone has to "settle" for you?
[–]AloysiusC 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It depends on a number of things. How short they are, what environment they're in and things like that. I can't comment on the guys you know but chances are they had to make up for it in some way or other.
[–]microcosmonaut -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

[–]mwobuddy 7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Lol. YOu're foolish. The reason you 'get more pussy' or at least attention is because as a gay guy you appear 'hard to get' because you show zero interest. Women want what they can't have, and usually if a man can have ANY woman, he will only shoot for the best, leading the second best and less to REALLY want him, by virtue of all the combined issues.
[–]fengpi 5 points6 points7 points 8 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
Some straight women fetishize gay men; such men also serve as a useful foil to make palatable such women's relationship foibles with icky, unfashionable, ugly, cowardly, unintelligent, vile straight (eeyew!) dudes.

[–]electricalnoise 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link
You must have because it seems to weigh so heavily with you.
Just like it matters so much to my 15 year old son lol
[–]TheRavenousRabbit 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Hardly, but listening to incels whining about something as meaningless as height is annoying. Especially on a subreddit that is about men's rights.
This Op is nothing but self ingratiating bullshit, the similar kind of tripe we see from the opposite side. This isn't the incel subreddit and if someone thinks that their height is going to make women not want to sleep with them, then they're not only wrong but idiotic.
In fact, their statements are bitter and pathetic. Their attitudes are the problem, not women's preferences. Men prefer a particular appearance, women prefer a particular appearance.
You people just need to accept that fact.
[–]Hannyu 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Their height may very well make some women not want to sleep with them. Not all, it is a generalization statement. At least not as a first choice, but they may be acceptable as a 4th or 5th choice.
The same can be said for men not wanting to sleep with super tall aka "amazon" women. Not that they won't but that generally they won't be the first round draft pick.

I'd like to tell you a similarly funny story. I was once at a very good (expensive) nightclub in a major city with my friends. At the bar, there was a rather good-looking woman with curly blonde hair and I began striking-up a conversation. Naturally, she accepted the drink I got her, (for sponging free food and drinks off of people is her never-to-be-questioned womanly birthright). She was acting standoffish and I made a bid to loosen her up.
Me: Don't worry, hon. I'm pretty safe to talk to.
Her: (Sarcastic sneer) What, you're gay?
Me: (Super sarcastically, rolling eyes) Yeah, I'm totally gay. The gayest.
Her: (Squeals!) OHMYGOD! (Starts grinding her crotch against me.) WHOOO!!
I guess my personality and dick turned really amazing all of a sudden, cuz my friends had to pry her off me.

Oh, it looks like you hit a few nerves. I love it!
[–]Luchadorgreen 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]spencer32320 7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
It's ridiculous that you think short men can't be healthy.
[–]fengpi 6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
No, he said that being short is a sign of poor health. Tall men don't get sick, see. If you're under 5'10, a woman doesn't want your disgusting mutated diseased genes polluting her precious womb. She'll generously let you buy her drinks, though, because your money isn't as filthy as you are.
[–]TheRavenousRabbit 4 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
