I make sure I have Google tracking enabled on my phone. It records everywhere you with your smart phone. It has saved me from bullshit problems twice so far.

I was falsely accused of domestic violence during a divorce (in a case that was later dismissed without any finding of guilt). During the year I was going through my divorce, I had to constantly record everywhere I went and document it with my lawyer -- and despite this, was arrested twice (once while at work, minding my own business) based on absolutely baseless and false claims.

This is why I have never understood the "believe women" statement. In my experience women are believed only too much. It took nothing but a false allegation and a call to the police to put me in the frying pan for months at a time.

The best defence is a good offence: never let someone else control the situation.

While in college, a friend warned me a woman I had refused to sleep with accused me of rape while talking to my friends. I immediately went to the administration and said someone was making slanderous accusations about me and I wanted it to stop or I would be forced to make it a legal issue. They pulled her in the office and told her she had to either take her claim to the police or stop talking about it. End result: permanently lost contact with almost 3/4 of my friends and I was harassed by SJWs for weeks (in hilarious, childish ways) but ultimately it was all for the best.

These people use the system to trample our rights, so get out in front of them and use it instead. Do not get caught reacting to their attacks. If that means opening a new front to force them to fight on your level then do that. For example if they drop an accusation, drop one of your own. If you can prove the allegations are false SUE THEM. Hit hard and fast and leave them reacting to you.

I lock my doors at night when I am home alone.

I always pay attention to my surroundings when I am walking anywhere alone.

I take self defense classes.

I keep my wallet in my front pocket to avoid pick-pocketing.

I don’t talk to strange people

I don’t go to the bad parts of town.

I try to avoid carrying too much cash.

I don’t go out drinking without friends.

I don’t leave my drinks unattended.

I could go on...

The truth is, men are more likely to be victimized than women but a lot of women live in more fear because they think men “can’t” get sexually assaulted the way women “can.”

So (unlike men) there are many women who obsess over the questions, “why should I have to do anything to protect myself in the world? Why can’t everything just be sunshine and butterflies where nothing ever bad happens?”

A lot of men also recognize that they can get victimized by a man or a woman. Most women don’t think they will be victimized by another woman, so they say things like, “why can’t men just stop sexually assaulting us?”

As a man, I have accepted the reality: most people are shitty and it is highly likely that I will get victimized at some point in my life. So what do I do? I do everything I can to make sure I am not victimized.

I do the same damn things women do! But if I ever got on facebook or twitter and complained about it the way women do, people would just tell me to “shut the fuck up,” and “man up!”

Meanwhile, if a woman goes up online and complains about how they have to do things to protect themselves, they are praised as “strong,” and “brave.”

I lock my car doors while I'm driving or just sitting in a car park (eating on the road or whatever).

I make sure I'm aware of my surroundings. Carry medical kits, and bright torches where ever possible. No weapons allowed here, but I used to carry a gun.

I tell friends and family where I am and keep my phone on.

I've de-escalated any situation I've ever gotten into by remaining calm and using physical cover such as not getting out of my vehicle when being verbally accosted. It's better to keep your mouth shut and just let them yell themselves out, then make your exit as quickly as possible.

I'm a tall guy with broad shoulders so I try my best to take up as little space as possible. Or avoid bumping people.

With dating... And this is the sad part, I just don't initiate anything anymore, at least physical. I'm sure this is one place where things have fallen flat, especially after a few dates but I'm just not comfortable any more. You inevitably get the "no spark" talk.

I don't drink at parties or at least watch what I drink very closely. I also listen to my friends (male and female) on their opinion of the people I'm interested in. Don't ignore girls who over step boundaries, that's a no brainer red flag.

I don't follow co-workers to the corridor where the bathroom is, if we are heading in the same direction coincidentally. Talk purely work unless it's explicitly appropriate.

Audio recorder, I always say the date and hour before start recording, mention the clothes I'm using and colour and I try to visit a place with a camera and make sure it records me real close...

Nobody can accuse me of lying about the date since I have a camera from a company recording me. I also make a report about warning stuff that might have happened during my say, encript all and save on cloud.

I never meet behind closed doors with a woman by myself. I once had a girl who had legitimate mental instabilities (she would threaten self harm if previous boyfriends left her) try to close the door to talk privately about things. This was terrifying to me. I became very aware of all my actions, I never looked her in the eyes during those few moments after she closed the door. I carefully told her I would feel more comfortable if we left the door open and physically opened the door. She got up to close the door again. I politely told her I was leaving and got up and fled the situation.

My friend and his family (mom and 2 younger siblings) has recently been harassed constantly by their neighbour, a 30-something-year-old woman who seems to be an adult bully. Well i went with him to pick up his sister from school (we are both 19 btw) and the neighbour was there and she seemed to be listening into our conversation and mimicking everything we were saying (we were having a general convo) and then shouting insults at us etc. I started to record this discreetly and she ended up flipping out and got into our faces screaming and stuff to try and embarass us in the street. My friends sister being super young was frightened and ran inside as soon as she saw the front door open, i shouted at the woman and told her to shut the fuck up (me and my friend are both quiet and shy af so this was probably a shock for the woman as we didnt retaliate to anything she was saying till this point). She then went to report us to the school for harrassment or whatever, who did nothing about it anyway because it was an out of bounds matter, but its clear that shes purposely wanting a reaction so that she can use it against my friend and his family. I got my friend to just call the police and they have a case going now because apparently shes been doing this sort of thing regularly, i sent him the footage in case they needed it as evidence (the situation is ongoing as of now). Since then, my friend has been recording clips whenever he sees her on their street (bc shes always yelling abuse and stuff). I can't imagine the type of lies she could make up if we didn't record anything bc we are both young adult males and shes one woman.

But yeah. If you feel shit is about to go down, just record it.

Another thing I do when at work is I make sure that all my interactions with women are more measured. I don’t make eye contact when I pass in the halls, and when I have to speak with them I am a lot more robotic and to the point.

I have to interact with a mentally ill woman sometimes, she's a hardened con artist and could be dangerous. So far I have just put my phone on record in my top pocket. It catches my side of the convo, not so good for hers. I can't just put it on the table because she is constantly moving.
Dated notes in a text file. I could email them to myself to create an independent date stamp.

But far the biggest thing is bicycle safety. Two tail lights, fluoro tops, reflective tape everywhere.

Hide my wallet & keys since the house is not normally locked.
Don't take my wallet or phone when out for a run late at night.
In this city of 300k there isn't anywhere I wouldn't go though some spots are best avoided at night, toilets in parks is the only one I can think of.

For adult women other than the one mentioned I've never done anything for safety purposes so far as I recall. I mainly associate with women, often alone or with no other men present. If I meet someone and want to get to know them better I might suggest some outdoor activity, I've never had a moment's concern about it going badly beyond being boring if we don't connect.

I do not wear clothes that make my genitalia hang out and show my butt cheeks for example. Usually I wear pants and a normal shirt that covers my arms
I do not post near-naked pictures on instagram and sexualize myself for everyone to see
If someone approaches me with sexual intentions I tell them "no" very clearly, so there is no mistake of my intentions.

For general safety, I avoid public transportation at night. I stay free of dangerous areas. I have a taser in my car and also in my nightstand.

Make sure if you go out with a girl or have a one night stand you text her so she if she falsely accuses you there's evidence showing nothing bad happens? Take note of where security cameras are and make sure to walk in the line of sight so that you're recorded.

Mind you, when it comes to cameras I tend to do that anyway because if you ever have to defend yourself out there in a physical confrontation you'll have evidence you can rely on in court.

As a middle aged man I’m unable to allow myself the indulgence of imagination fueled fantasies about being victimized and have a more pragmatic view of the people in my middle income family orientated community.
