Why do both r/MensRights and r/TwoXChromosomes contain so much sexism? Why cannot you people respect someone's problems, without dismissing them?

Gonna need some evidence for r/mensrights, it would be good to see what you mean by "sexism" and "dismissing".

As for 2X, all forms of feminism are predicated on the presumption of male monstrosity and female weakness. Mens rights advocacy is necessarily antifeminist.

I'm going to guess that you're quite young.

Humans MUST discriminate in order to a) stay alive, and b) protect themselves from danger.

Where it becomes a problem is when the discrimination is unjust, or for reasons that do not relate to the situation. Examples:

My trailer suffered a flat tire. It's full of heavy stuff. I need someone to help me a) remove the heavy stuff so there isn't as much weight on the tire, and b) change the tire. Do I choose a 90lb woman? Or the 200lb man? That's a discrimination I MUST make. I choose the stronger-looking person (even though this might not actually turn out to be true).

However, if I am in the same situation and I am faced with a White man, a Black man and an Asian man, if I use their skin color to guide my decision, that's unjust discrimination, because skin color has nothing to do with ability to lift heavy stuff or change a tire.

To address the specifics in your post:

Respect is earned.

Respect is not automatic. You don't respect me just because I write shit on the interwebz. I have to earn that respect from you by showing you qualities that you internally respect - courteousness, evenhandedness, and intelligence.

So if we find that on 2X the women shit on men, let's say by using hashtags "killallmen" or "yesallmen" or "allmenarerapists", why should we respect them? They immediately crossed the boundary of courteousness into discourteous behaviour. They haven't earned respect, they have lost all respect.

What you might find is that society has allowed women to show no respect for men, with no repercussions (in fact, you'll see many posts saying "YASS GURL, SLAY!", in support of their disrespect).

No one polices women on their bad behaviour.

In one of your comments in your comment history, you suggest shaming men into compliance. This is policing men. But I'll wager you won't dare suggest shaming women into compliance...

I suggest gently that this is evidence that you yourself discriminate unfairly.

If you are being honest about your opinion, what you’re not understanding is that some of us want a meritocracy and others of us do not. Those who want to impose equality based on identity politics are scrambling up the rules of engagement in society, and they are, generally speaking, feminists. Then they get upset when things are made equal and they can’t compete on a level playing field. They demand more “equality” and then more fighting occurs.

Second thing you’re missing is that some of us believe in gender roles, generally speaking, and others of us do not. That creates conflict. It can’t be helped.

So, conflict happens, that’s how it’s is, that’s how it’s going to be. Kumbaya is for camp outs, conflict is for adults.

This subreddit is certainly more open to differing opinions than feminist subreddits, that much is true.

I would agree that there is probably some anti women sentiment from some people here, and also anti male sentiment from people on feminist subreddits.

On the whole though, I suspect that the feminist subreddits hate us much more than we hate them.

I’m going to give you my opinion based on biology. Please strap in and prepare for a cold analytical scientific and boring point of view… and remember keep your hands and feet inside the car until it is come to a complete stop.

Humans are social animals, but we are also tribal (herd or pack ). All social creatures have hierarchical systems to some extent. Bees, wolves, deer, apes, ect…

As such we have a tendency to split our fellow humans into different groups to simplify our understanding both within the tribe and outside of the tribe. Doing so allows us to establish relationships in transactional terms. It also unfortunate establishes sub units that lead to “us vs them” mentalities.

The divisions and relationships formed tend to favor gene survivability. That’s where terms like “ biological altruism” come from. To say it’s entirely altruistic is actually not true if I am sterile, but I help my brothers and sisters to reproduce. I have around 50% of my gens passed on indirectly. In that sense ensuring the genes of my breeding group and preferably my direct siblings are passed on is not altruistic. It’s actually selfish. It only appears altruistic from the outside.

Which to me implies that we will never get rid of inequality, because exist in our mind and our genes. Doesn’t mean we should try, but it does probably mean will fail.

For example, male and female are clearly easy to delineate and we’re not really the same.

In most animal species, the female picks the male for breeding purposes. This means it to some extent behavior is quasi-gender determinant. I don’t mean gender identity I mean gender specific.

Normally in humans the sex ratios skewed slightly higher for men, since males have a higher death rate than women, before reaching sexual maturity. This is largely driven by risk taking behavior from higher testosterones levels. Before someone accuses me of being something I’m not this trend holds for most vertebrates.

everything is fine as long as the sex ratio is roughly equal at full sexual maturity. Unequal numbers will lead to increased competition and friction ( read fighting) in the social groups.

Similar things occur both in humans and other vertebrates that are highly social between Tera to risk breeding groups. In extreme cases this can lead to speciation events.

So, in my opinion, we are fighting against our own fundamental biology to prevent things like racism and sexism. Those urges are hardwired into us to promote the replication of our germ line.

I'm not going to say there's no sexism here, there is. But unlike 2XC, it's not the norm. There are a few sexist people here, just like there are everywhere, but they don't define this sub as they are rare and few in number.

And well, 2XC is... Well it's 2XC. I can't stand that cesspool of sexism, every post is men this, men that... Men complain about this, but it's actually their fault... Etc... There are some posts I would consider borderline here, but the level of hate the other subreddit shows is really worrisome, you can't compare the two.

I couldn't define what they do in any other way than "ganging up".

Here you can get stern replies, but there, everything you say gets dismissed as male propaganda; when you're lucky enough to not get laughed at and insulted.

There is not even a tiny hint of willingness to have a civil exchange. They brandish the truth upon the male who's nothing but a rapist, opportunist and liar to their eyes. Anything remotely positive about men gets downvoted to oblivion...

Seriously, I couldn't believe how low a part of the female world has stooped down.

They're beyond the line of no return. Their reasoning is based on the axiom: "I've suffered because of men thus all men are the lowest form of life on Earth".

And please bear with me when I say this, but I'm starting to believe that this is a phenomenon limited to the US. I'm talking about how bad it got.

This ideas are spreading all over the globe, but their effects are not so radical, this limitless hatred is something I've never seen in any european nation.

American government should acknowledge and address it as soon as possible. It's a mental health emergency and we all should join, both men and women who refuse this narrative, against the "jihad" we are witnessing.

All you really need to know is that merely posting in this sub gets you automatically banned from several feminist subreddits, whereas posting in those subreddits does not get you banned here.

So really that’s all you need to consider when it comes to the “which sphere is more discriminatory?”. One sphere challenges opposing views and tries to confront them, the other actively prevents them from entering into discussion at all and concludes they’re wrong by proxy of advocating (or even just considering) for their viewpoint in the first place.

If you view these approaches as equal, then I don’t really know what to say.
