There's progress being made, for example the All-Party Parliamentary Group for men and boys in the UK. It's just that it not often covered in the media.

Also, whatever you think about Richard Reeves, it's a sign that men's issues are being taken more seriously.

Its to embedded in people. From both via books, tv shows, movies, social media its drilled in women have it so much worse. Almost every show I know has had that almost obligatory episode where the woman/girl experiences some sort of sexism and has to overcome it. Or have a girl power episode. This literally brainwashes women into thinking they are victims and men are the bad guys they need to stand up to. When you see yourself as a victim you aren't too worried about helping who you see as the oppressor or privileged.

Also its kind of needed for society. The way society is currently ran, it needs men at the bottom and not to worried about their rights. They literally lose soldiers if men protest too much about being required to put down their lives for someone else's war. Men are the ones keeping the country running. I'm not saying women don't but society will feel a bigger impact if all male labour disappeared compared to all female labour.

Thirdly, because of men's attitude. Men tend to have a very "it is what it is" mentality and don't attempt to fight back in anyway that will make a difference. Some men don't even see why it needs to be changed until it happens to them there was a very pro-woman tiktoker who loved to say as a man he knows all the other men are lying about their struggles and that he has experienced so much male privilege that a bit of struggle elsewhere is fine...guess what happened when he got divorced. All of a sudden its courts need to be changed. Fathers shouldn't be kept away from their children.

Men are also the ones defending the gynocentric system. Such as beating a man who hits a woman back literally saving her from the consequences of her own actions. Or rushing to a womans aid or being so quick to demonise/drag other men.

First, because it's a wide spectrum, covering an enormous range of issues.
Second, because many of those issues have a wide range of possible solutions that there's not much agreement on.
Third, because egalitarianism goes against nature, and telling people to fight their own instincts is always a hard sell.
Fourth, because a struggle against instinct isn't a "one and done" kind of fight; it means constantly checking your own actions and motivations, and people often won't do that for their OWN desires. Fifth, because each and every last one of us benefits from specific male struggles and sacrifices, and not many people have the moral fortitude to walk away from Omelas. Finally, because the root of all these issues is a lack of empathy, and they're not the kind of problems we're going to see meaningfully fixed in short order.

Don't think of John Kennedy, saying we'd send men to the Moon and bring them back home again safely before the decade was out; think of the medieval laborers who started clearing land to build a cathedral that neither they nor their children would see finished. Most ways of improving the world are slow-burning long-runners; this is no exception.

Want a short answer or the long one?

Short: everyone only cares for himself. There are many men out there who would throw you under the bus for the chance of getting laid by a woman. That's why men's rights can and will never be the same as women's rights.

Long: Civilizational standards and biological habits aren't compatible. Humanity build it's first shelter 12.000 years ago, democracy is known since ancient greece and the civil rights are only 200 years old. Compare that to the span of time where all our ancestors swung from one tree to another and beat each other to death to be able to mate.

"80% of the women in dating apps are only interested in 20% of the men" isn't something spectacular new of our social media world. It's something that could be observed for decades in the environment of animals. And if you widen your look on the age of earth, then we've been closer to animals than humans just a blink ago.

The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you're inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it.

Dramatic turns of phrase, but ultimately gets at your heart of the matter. Both men and women exist within a cultural context that makes them hostile to people who advocate for men. From one side they've been taught all their lives about patriarchy, about male oppression, about male violence and domination. They internalize the original sin of being born male and express as guilt, shame, self degradation, and obedience if they have a conscientious nature. The main counterpoint to this mainstream cultural demonization of men is the story of sacrifice given to us by traditional gender roles. Sacrifice yourself as a provider, sacrifice yourself in dangerous and dirty work, sacrifice yourself in war. *Your mileage may vary.

It's even more difficult than that. To advocate for men is literally to fight out very nature. The ideological framework that feminism is based on is strong, but ultimately the reason feminism has been a huge success is because it aligns with out evolutionary psychology. We are naturally and instinctively attuned to women's grievances and to a desire to protect them. The "women are wonderful" effect makes us all more empathetic towards them, and women's 4.5x in-group bias is purely natural solidarity. None of this psychology is in play for men. There's no biology or evolutionary psychology where men are considered.. but rather where they are sacrificed. Men have no in-group bias. Grievance narratives don't really work for men as a means to build support. Sexuality also plays a part. While many men will be much softer with all women, men who are suffering and on hard times are virtually invisible to women due to hypergamy.

This biological programming isn't working for a modern cultural context, and could be countered through education, but instead we let people who have designs on men reinforce these biases instead.

Because men are the ones that enforce it. In every way, men are the ones that decide what privileges, who gets them, and how to enforce each infarction.
It's not pointless. There are two major reasons things are the way they are: men have allowed it, and women plan on groups. If men got together in groups, and got in the same page, things would stabilize and get better for all.
