Just something I've noticed as a student. In hard fields like science, tech, maths, you don't have to write many essays. If you do, they're about technical subjects and not feelz, aka opinionated pieces on social matters.

In other "softer" fields... Arts, medicine, social science, psychology, education, etc etc... You do have to write essays. And those essays will tend to involve social or political issues. And therefore, you will have to either tuck in your dick, pretend to be a leftist and apologize for male privilege constantly, or risk getting shitty grades.

I had an English professor give me a zero on an essay because my thesis wasn't sufficiently pc. She put down some lame official excuse that I didn't address the topic, but it was clear what she really thought when she spoke with me. Any in person class I take is a hostile environment for anyone who dares to be insufficiently leftist, question the prevailing narrative on cis white male "oppression"... Any class except those where social issues never come up.

My theory: No male really fancies being an emasculated cuck, or having to pretend to be one, so they go into a field where they can take refuge in the sweet silence of not having to prostrate themselves and prove their leftist credentials at every turn. Fields where it's about what you know, rather than what you believe.

So, imo, it's not so much that women are socialized not to go into STEM. Its that men are being socialized not to do anything else. There's less male college students, proportionally, than ever. That's not some big coincidence. Colleges are increasingly an sjw dominated cesspool where males, particularly white and or Hetero males, are simply not welcome. STEM fields are the only refuge left, and feminists are doing their best to erode even that.
