You were banned for posting at /r/thebluepill. We ban anyone who posts there, sometimes even preemptively. Why on Earth would you run over to a debate sub to report this.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (16 children) | Copy Link

You were banned for posting at /r/thebluepill. We ban anyone who posts there, sometimes even preemptively.

Well that's just retarded.

[–]We_Are_LegionAutumn Red4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago* (15 children) | Copy Link

Read my other post in this thread.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

I read your post, it still doesn't explain why you ban someone just for posting in a certain subreddit. Ban people who troll other subreddits maybe. But don't ban people merely for posting in another subreddit.

Bear in mind I mod a sub almost double the size of TRP.

[–]assmunchinator5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

TBP clearly dislikes TPR/RPW. There can be almost no good from BPers posting on these subs. I don't really have a problem with banning people who they themselves claim they hate you.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

SRS hates TiA, I don't ban anyone who posts in SRS. That's just taking yourself down to SRS-tier modding.

[–]drok007Not white enough to be blue pill2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Except that TiA is just more mocking and making fun of people. So it's much different vibe and there is not much in depth discussion. RPW cultivates a different type of atmosphere which actually would get ruined with TBP type posts and comments.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

/r/TiADiscussion is for, well, discussion. We don't ban people without reason there either.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

You have hit on an important point here. RPW, TRP, SRS and whacko Tumblrites all exhibit the same tendencies, IMO. In a lot of ways, TBP and TiA are very similar.

[–]We_Are_LegionAutumn Red2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago* (8 children) | Copy Link

I read your post, it still doesn't explain why you ban someone just for posting in a certain subreddit.

Actually it does.

Bear in mind I mod a sub almost double the size of TRP.

Most people agree with all of those subreddits, and there isn't much to understand. There isn't much opposition. There isn't much to explain.

The case is entirely different for TRP.

How many times have you been named creepiest sub on reddit? Could you say rank with or higher than /r/spacedicks and /r/beatingwomen for infamy? And not just infamy for perversion, mind you.

Infamy that INSPIRES feminists and social justice warriors to come at you. All the time. Twenty-four seven.

You mod tumblrinaction, you know how stupid many of these people are. The population of /r/TheBluePill may be better than the worst of tumblr, but they're still borderline retarded. Or at least self-righteous to the point of silliness.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Are you suggesting SJWs don't hate TiA?

[–]We_Are_LegionAutumn Red0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

Not to the same degree. You aren't quite outright misogynist, woman-beating, white-supremacist, mini-Elliot Rodgers yet.

Nobody has a serious agenda of getting you banned wholesale from having your say. Meanwhile, I read the mini-doxxing incident and smile and wonder if it wasn't staged.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

To be fair, TiA doesn't have sidebar material advocating the things that TRP does. TBP makes fun of TRP using the things posted by TRPers on TRP, in the exact same way that TiA makes fun of Tumblr using things posted on Tumblr by Tumblrites.

[–]We_Are_LegionAutumn Red0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

To be fair, TiA doesn't have sidebar material advocating the things that TRP does.

And what does the sidebar advocate that you find so objectionable?

Before you answer, I'd ask you to read this.

http://www.reddit.com/r/TheRedPill/comments/29il6q/the_scorpion_and_the_frog/

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I read that post, it was needlessly wordy and poorly constructed.

On objectionable material, I take it you have never read Chateau Heartiste? Even when they make a good point, they do so in the most extreme and objectionable terms possible. It's almost like the author is trying to attract more clicks on his website by appealing to people who want to be offensive out of some sense of rebellion against society and its mores...

Also, one of their sidebar links advocates for victims to marry their rapists:

One might have more sympathy for the “date rape victims” if they wanted the men to marry them, feared they were ruined for other suitors, and were prepared to assume their own obligations as wives and mothers. But this is simply not the case. The date rape campaigners, if not the confused young women themselves, are hostile to the very idea of matrimony, and never propose it as a solution. They want to jail men, not make responsible husbands of them. This is far worse than shotgun marriage, which at least allowed the man to act as father to the child he had sired.

Personally, I find that pretty objectionable. But if you frequent TRP, I can understand if you don't. It's a pretty common part of the groupthink over there.

In any case, "Sexual Utopia in Power" goes on:

The date rape issue can be solved overnight by restoring shotgun marriage—but with the shotgun at the woman’s back. The “victim” should be told to get into the kitchen and fix supper for her new lord and master...after the birth of her child, the woman will have more important things to worry about than whether the act by which she conceived it accorded with some women’s studies professor’s newfangled notion of “true consent”...

Also, the writer of that PDF is F. Roger Devlin, a well known so-called "white nationalist", which is always PC-speak for neo-Nazi. Again, that is something which most people find objectionable, but which is often defended at TRP.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

No response?

To be fair, I didn't expect a response. Whenever I raise this material with a red piller, they always run away and refuse to discuss it with me.

[–]We_Are_LegionAutumn Red0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

No response? To be fair, I didn't expect a response. Whenever I raise this material with a red piller, they always run away and refuse to discuss it with me.

Honestly, I was hoping you'd pick something easy like "Women, the most responsible teenager in the house". I haven't read sexual utopia in power in three years, and even then I heavily skimped. I did put it in my schedule to re-read properly though.

If it helps, I promise I'm not part of the crowd that thinks debate is a contest and I have none of that "team" or "defending an idea" mentality. If it is really is worth the hate, you may get your TBP screenshot of an EC disagreeing and shame us all, and I'll bring up the issue with the mods.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don't need to get screenshots to shame anyone. People who defend the "required reading" should already be ashamed that their required reading contains a white supremacist arguing that rape victims should be forced to marry rapists.

[–]AFormidableContenderPurple Pill Man1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That seems like a remarkably stupid rule, even for RPW mods typical childlike behaviour.

You can't hope to encourage meaningful discussion by acting like Reddit trolls. You should be aiming to be examples to bluepill subs.

[–]Scarlett_Begonias[S] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Not to report, just to comment... I'm not interested in being unbanned, as that was my first comment there in months, it just sent me on a train of thought that I wanted to share.

[–][deleted] 9 points10 points11 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Where is the "debate" aspect of your post? It was simple nanny-nanny-boo-boo hurt feelers complaining.

I can see why you would think that. But my goodness, you are mean aren't you?

[–]AFormidableContenderPurple Pill Man1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There's a large and important different between the realities of the sexual dynamic, and the types of ideals your subreddit champions.

[–]We_Are_LegionAutumn Red7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago* (8 children) | Copy Link

I'm going to bet on this thread(like others before) devolving into a ban complaints thread, so let me just clear the air and provide some answers for those curious.

Redpill may have just 60-65K subscribers, but it is possibly one of the more under-seige forums(not just subreddits) for its size on the internet. From a conversation with a mod, the figure is [EDIT: undisclosed whole number] million unique visitors in May. With lurkers far exceeding subscribers. Considering the barrier to entry being its famously harsh tone and tons of incredibly spread out reading, its a wonder even 60K had the attention span to understand enough to subscribe. (I personally classify most BPs, from having listened to their arguments as people who understand halfway.)

That said, many of the policies in regard to controlling this influx are necessarily harsh. If you read the sticky post at the moment, it should give you an idea, we are not open to our tone or message being diluted with politically correct bullshit.

Even so, TRP does not ban people for simply disagreeing, it bans people for how they choose to disagree((productively vs obnoxiously). Examples of obnoxiously are using shaming language(there is literally a link in the side bar that warns you that this list of arguments is how we identify you as a troll. you may be special in your head but that entire list has been emptied at us by thousands of people before you, and is no longer something we bother explaining any more), trying to tone police, concern trolling, arguing via platitudes, pedantry, moralistic fallacies, thought-terminating clichés("...you seem like misogynists to me and that's why you're wrong" = ban. I wrote about this on RP here.If you disagree, address the points), etc.

Even if not that, you still can get banned for other reasons; making conversations into personal grudges, not following the rules and guidelines and incessantly giving distinctly "BP" platitude-ridden posts or advice WITHOUT justifying it. That said, considering what I said in my second paragraph, know the mods are few and are understandably, not very concerned with lengthy due process. RP does want you to hesitate a little before you post a message and consider if that shit is worth reading by anyone there.

To give you an idea of how you can expect to be banned, here is a conversation between a bannee and mod on why he was banned:

http://np.reddit.com/r/AlreadyRed/comments/21xdeo/how_much_is_too_much/cghpmsh

If you are wondering HOW you can come into redpill and DISAGREE constructively without being banned, read this from the same thread(whisper's and redpillschool's posts):

http://np.reddit.com/r/AlreadyRed/comments/21xdeo/how_much_is_too_much/cgi5s3g

Interestingly, the thread was a conversation on how far protecting RP from being co-opted by its own popularity has turned it into a cult. Interesting read.

NOW: A lot of you will automatically come up with "but I've never even done much/anything wrong there! Why am I banned?"

The answer is(for many); .np links. If you follow said links, from say TBP or SRS or what have you, and you vote or participate(even pretending to be RP opinionated), it may be possible for mods to ban you. This also applies if you post links to TRP and FORGET to use .np links when doing so.

The second reason you may be banned is, proactive banning of people likely to become trolls. i.e. for submitting too many TBP/SRD/SRS/whatever links into RP or commenting in threads which are currently causing vote brigades or a high influx of shitty BP reported comments. Mods may find that thread and read your shit or just randomly ban you. This applies doubly to participating in threads which are brigading RP WITHOUT a .np marker. Mods may investigate where the traffic is coming from and see those links especially. They may see you commenting in that thread and assume you are going through onto RP, and pre-empt any posts by you. Keep in mind, the banning process is not lengthy.

Basically, the current state of reddit's obsession and drama over RP is conflicting with our desire to have our discussions undisturbed by you. Perhaps you're innocent, but overall, proactively banning people who are high risk of commenting is something we all very much agree with. You can lob charges of censorship all you want, but we're not obligated to give you a decent say if this is the mainstream response to our self-contained isolated say.

Redpill is a rare place on the internet where our opinions are voiced and there's a gathering of us, specifically. People are looking for value out of redpill, they are looking for advice. Non-nebulous actionable practical advice and observations from a RP perspective. This cannot happen if you are bringing down the signal-to-noise ratio. You can take your shit elsewhere, but we cannot. Try to respect that.

And also be open to the possibility, that perhaps you are wrong and can benefit from shutting up, putting aside your ego and listening. Especially in the face of criticism, of you or your gender/group. Be open to the possibility that as far as we are discussing redpill, maybe something is not making sense to you because you never bothered to do your homework and are clueless of context, and that this is painfully apparent to the rest of us who read your shit. That there are somethings we assume everyone knows, and when you do not, and you say it, you make yourself a target to be downvoted, banned or deleted. This is not an organised class centered around you. You glean from lurking. If you don't understand something, it is better to search and lurk more(or use asktrp or the IRC). If you have nothing worthwhile to contribute, say nothing.

If it matters, I'll also mention I've engaged in vehement disagreements with mods and ECs about multiple points, for example, banning women who mention they're women, shit-tests, "women are children", and of course, gaylubeoil. I've never been banned. If anything, I was given more say on RP than ever. Its because of how we choose to disagree vs how you choose to disagree. AGAIN, see above on how to disagree without being banned. The experience of people who post here is against you.

But more than anything, try to understand more before you start arguments, otherwise you are going to deal with people who are simply going to roll their eyes, downvote and move on because they are NOT patient enough to explain from the basics. It is not our burden to make you understand. We never invited you. And we don't have time to explain things you are too lazy to search for or read on the side bar.

An example of a civil disagreement(over "Women: The most responsible teenager in the house"): http://www.reddit.com/r/TheRedPill/comments/2664p3/mod_if_you_fail_the_reading_test_i_will_ban_you/cho43so

[–]AFormidableContenderPurple Pill Man2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Even as a RedPill male myself I think you are living on another planet if you can honestly say TRP is a fair environment in relation to bannings. You cannot say, with a straight face that TRP does not ban people they just don't like, or whom disagree just as most other radical bluepill and redpill subreddits do.

[–]We_Are_LegionAutumn Red0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

As it is, I think the mods are doing a great job considering the task. Of course its not perfect, but I think few will say there are better solutions. Even if you were tasked with being a mod, and you were absolutely determined to be fair, I don't think you could be. Or at least not both fair and effective. Its not fair to say there isn't some amount of overwhelming response to TRP. Controlling all the different forums, with said traffic and the full hounds of internet social justice on your tail, you'd be hard pressed to keep everyone happy and step on no one's toes. I used to teach a class of 50 part-time back on college so I of all people can empathize with that feeling. Of being forced to be resented by some students for inattention or being harsh or making examples. I'll cut TRP a little slack for that.

But I can say with utmost certainty that it is at least not "just as bad" as in TBP or otherwise. Which is strange, considering they don't even have the excuse we do, i.e. having a subreddit dedicated on brigading them or having a huge influx of new visitors nearly daily(less than 0.5% of whom subscribe on the best days).

[–]AFormidableContenderPurple Pill Man0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I think that's more of a convenient excuse to air on the side of dictatorial freedom rather than functional rationalism. The meat of a reddit mod's job is to pass judgement on reports, and bans. All that requires is that you read the correlated discussion and have adequate decision making skills, and the social aptitude to discern when someone was provoked, or attacking preemptively, or violating the terms or social contracts of the subreddit rules.

I'm not trying to come down on you like a bag of rocks, but I think if you think TRP subs aren't just as bad for vindictive, disingenuous or disconcerting modship, you're viewing the communities with rose-coloured glasses.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Mods may find that thread and read your shit or just randomly ban you. This applies doubly to participating in threads which are brigading RP WITHOUT a .np marker. Mods may investigate where the traffic is coming from and see those links especially.

"Proactive banning" for a sub which is "possibly one of the more under-seige forums(not just subreddits) for its size on the internet " seems inconsistent. For example, I have never posted on TRP, yet am banned from doing so. Why bother going through my post history etc to find whether I am worth banning, when you could just wait until I turned up trolling TRP?

I wouldn't anyway - I just find your ideas funny, I don't think they need active rebuttal any more than Tumblr feminists do (which is why I don't often frequent PPD).

[–]We_Are_LegionAutumn Red0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I just find your ideas funny, I don't think they need active rebuttal any more than Tumblr feminists do (which is why I don't often frequent PPD).

Uh huh. Keep doing that.

Why bother going through my post history etc to find whether I am worth banning, when you could just wait until I turned up trolling TRP?

Its not hard to ban people. And you clearly don't have much reading comprehension. Its not so much as going through your post history as seeing you post threads which currently flood RP with unwanted traffic. If mods are curious enough where the traffic came from, and you are OP or if you are making especially silly comments than you might just be clicked on. Its not a lengthy process.

That all is assuming you were even banned for being OP. You may also be banned for voting while browsing as .np. Its in reddit's FAQ on .np links, you know.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's the OP thing. I don't vote on any TRP-related sub.

[–]Scarlett_Begonias[S] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Thank you for your advice! I haven't been banned from TRP, and I've certainly made more posts there than in RPW. I've had several very thought provoking ( and totally civil) discussions with you guys.

[–]HappyWifeLife 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link

It's weird that you say your comment was innocuous and genuinely not sarcastic but you came here to report the ban instead of messaging the mods to explain the comment.

[–]Scarlett_Begonias[S] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

I'm not "reporting", it just made me think and I wanted to share... I assumed that the sub I remember being full of the more reasonable red pillers and blue pillers was a good place.

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points9 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

We are not unreasonable for banning people who post on a sub that exists specifically to mock and deride us. You do not get to play in both sandboxes.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Then everyone here from RPW and TRP should get banned. Ya'll are hypocrites playing in both sandboxes right now...wake up.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

This sub exists SPECIFICALLY for red pill and blue people to debate, I didn't say "no one gets to play in two different sandboxes ever", I said that no one gets to play in specifically both the RPW sandbox and the TBP sandbox. Drunk again?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Nope, sober for 17 days and counting, thanks for the "concern". BTW I played in all 3 sanboxes for quite some time and got away with it. Ya'll might want to up your snoop game a little, bitches be getting away with too much these days.

[–]HappyWifeLife 5 points6 points7 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

YOU were banned because you put down someone else's success (and her husband) because in your eyes he was a weak man.

Instead of regrouping when the mods pointed out that you had missed the point, you dug down even harder and continued to insult the OP's husband while bragging about your own relationship and concluding yourself superior to the OP.

We didn't miss anything, we just waited for you to show your true colors before making a move against you.

The very fact that you commented in all 3 for as long as you did is direct proof that you were given a fair shake.

[–]Scarlett_Begonias[S] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I've subscribed to TRP, TBP, and this sub for a while. I've found entertainment, information, and good discussion in all three.

[–]HappyWifeLife 4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Right - you were NOT reporting by coming to another sub and announcing your ban. Got it. Thank you for clarifying.

[–]AFormidableContenderPurple Pill Man0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Because explaining yourself to a a small group of radically in-group biased individuals given unrestricted power over a community meant to discuss sex and gender dynamics has always been an affective use of ones time.

Reddit moderators, especially in subreddits like all of ours are chosen specifically because they can't think for themselves.

[–]HappyWifeLife 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yes, I think if you comment and are misunderstood, you could reach out and fix it, get a positive result, and therefore not have wasted time.

I think it is naive to believe a Reddit moderator has any interest in being reasonable to people they themselves banned.

Reversing a ban is admitting weakness and poor decision making. No one is going to admit they were a derp for the sake of you remaining in a community when they couldn't give less of a shit about you.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I've seen cases where contacting the mods simply results in several days of abusive messages from mods like danabanana. Some of the mods aren't as well connected to reality as you might be.

[–]la_sabotageTerp Terp Terp0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That's been mostly my experience with reddit mods in general. I suspect it comes with the complete lack of accountability in the way reddit is set up.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

I got banned by them yesterday. That's just how they are apparently. You say one thing they might not like and BAM gone. To me they are just as bad as feminists, totally judgmental and not open to any new ideas, ever. They are just another group who thinks they have it all figured out, and like every other group with that mentality they are dead wrong . Not everyone can fit in the same box and be happy. The day you stop asking questions, stop learning, and decide you've got it figured out is the day you become a useless waste of space.

[–]Scarlett_Begonias[S] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

It's human nature I suppose but I think we should be trying to harness better parts of our natures than arrogance and closed-minded ness. In other words, I agree, :)

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago* (6 children) | Copy Link

You are continuing to pretend you were banned for what you said or for any other reason other than posting on a subreddit that specifically exists to make fun of, brigade, doxx and harm TRP and RPW. It had nothing to do with openmindedness or arrogance. Anyone who posts at TBP is banned, period. They aren't a sub that just "disagrees" with the Red Pill, they want to have us shut down and destroyed. You do not get to belong to our community if you post there.

[–]Scarlett_Begonias[S] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well, now I understand I suppose, but I think you missed my point a little... It's not so much the banning as the banning on top of my past experiences with people being mean to me. Now that I know the ban was impersonal, it matters even less, but my point still stands.

I was banned for posting in The Blue Pill! So I don't blame them for following their rules. And given that it was the only post I'd made there in at least 6 months, I don't think my life will be disrupted much by not being able to post there.

[–]DenswendThe Swiss Army Knife of Hate1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Were you banned for this comment :

Clearly he was intimidated by how good you looked, and probably wanted to "take you down a peg." Luckily you know that his lack of confidence isn't your problem!

Yeah, it kinda looks sarcastic. I'll admit that sarcasm over the internet is quite hard to achieve, as sarcasm depends on body language and tone of your voice - both of those things just cannot translate over the internet. But it makes sense to be banned for such a transgression, especially when they had prior bad experience with you. TRP itself and all its derivations have a low tolerance for trollish posts. For example, when mod instituted an instaban rule for posting over Eliot Rodgers - and he did that in good measure. If you want to troll, or have some snarky "sarcasm" (passive aggressive jabs in SJW outraged manner), you have subreddit the blue pill.

To put it into context, this is the top voted comment :

Sounds like he was trying and failing at negging you.

And the thread is here.

[–]Scarlett_Begonias[S] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Wasn't sarcastic! I thought it was a funny story, and the guy was probably inexperienced and insecure, trying to do some form of negging. Not that I think he was specifically influenced by any PUA or TRP stuff, and if he was I think most of their adherents would laugh at his attempt...

[–]DenswendThe Swiss Army Knife of Hate0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's okay. I said that it looked sarcastic, and it's hard to tell what is and what isn't over the net. I'm on your side. Explain to them that you weren't sarcastic and that you really meant what you said and I'm sure that this misunderstanding will be ameliorated easily.

[–]Scarlett_Begonias[S] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Turns out they banned me because I posted in The Blue Pill, which I was supposed to have realized somehow... I just thought they banned me for the comment because it happened shortly after I posted it. But now I understand.

[–]SirNemesistitties not tithe1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

No, he really did try to take her down a peg, but there is nothing to say it had to do with the girl in question's looks.

[–]Scarlett_Begonias[S] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The girl had deliberately dressed nicely and put makeup on, in contrast to the work clothes she was wearing when she met the guy. She wrote in her original post that she felt she looked good.

[–]DenswendThe Swiss Army Knife of Hate0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He did, hence why I put the top voted comment. RPW agreed that this man was a dick and best left avoided. But the tone of the OP is kinda sarcastic. When you couple that with prior interactions OP had with RPW, it is safe to assume that they thought OP was being overtly sarcastic and deserving of a ban. OP should clear this up with them, as this is just a basic misunderstanding.

[–]AFormidableContenderPurple Pill Man1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago* (5 children) | Copy Link

Nope, have to disagree. I mean in context your correct, if you let feminists take part in a community their main weapon is hostile taker over the commandeering of messages and shaming etc etc, but that's not what's going on with RPW and TRP even. These subreddits are just as bad as extremist BluePill subreddits when it come to shitting on people because they are essentially the same thing and haven't risen above the petty in-group bias because they came there for the same reason: they want their world view circle jerked.

I mean even speaking as a RedPill Man, the content of both subs is over the top most of the time and clearly explicit attempts to circlejerk beliefs that are pretty out there even for rational TRP people.

Edit: I don't know why this was posted here. This was supposed to be my response to the poster above who responded to my comment, but it's got a reply thread going so I'll just leave it

[–]Scarlett_Begonias[S] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

When I used to post in TRP a lot, things were not that bad. I guess the situation is different now... I took a hiatus from reddit (I have a baby) and just came back. I always felt, if not welcome there, at least grudgingly respected enough to have civil discussions with me.

[–]AFormidableContenderPurple Pill Man1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I suppose the grand irony of all of this is that I have no idea why a woman would have any interest in discussing TRP. You really don't appear to gain anything, but you lose your suspension of disbelief, and get to continue living in the lady-bubble.

RPW makes sense, even though those women are terrifying. I've read threads about how women should abort babies made by betas because they weren't genetically worth while.

Why would you wanna participate?

[–]Scarlett_Begonias[S] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Be the change. If you're inclined to disagree, do so in a respectful and productive fashion. Flesh out the opposite viewpoint from the context of male sexual strategy.

A lot of the time though, yes, I do agree. I find myself sifting. But then I can consider an idea without accepting it. And in any case, that level of over-the-top is still better than most of the BP outlets in terms of useful information underneath.

I tried to explain most of the vitriol to the newbies here during the surge a few days ago. If not convince, at least to get them to understand as they start to post.

The greatest barrier to entry of RP is presentation and tone. But then, you have to consider... we're not particularly concerned with "converting" people either.

Be the change. If you're inclined to disagree, do so in a respectful and productive fashion. Flesh out the opposite viewpoint from the context of male sexual strategy.

I did and do. It got me banned too when I attempted to highlight the irrationality of one of their proposed subreddits rule changes.

As far as the rest of your post, there are two types of TRP man in my opinion. Those that joined TRP because they're already alpha, or have the building blocks to be, and therefore they get to bask in privilege and shit on betas, and people who join TRP begrudgingly because though they accept it as the most realistic explaination of the world around them, realize it's their doom and they'll never get women or be alpha. These two groups put together are a horrific combination for rational redpills to have a real conversation with.

I was banned from RPW for advocating physical discipline. I still enjoy reading the sub and agree with most red pill beliefs.

[–]Scarlett_Begonias[S] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I like it in the bedroom but I don't think it has an obvious place in red pill philosophy. You could incorporate it I guess but most people won't like it.

RPW is not for fetishes and outliers.

[–]berryokt1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I feel that physical punishment is an effective tool against bad behaviors in women. Dana already did not like Goreans, she has called it gay numerous times. That is probably why when I posted what works for myself and my husband, it was taken as a fetish thing. Taken in Hand relationships also make use of corporal punishment. I can contribute in other forums, but it would be nice to be unbanned. I've enjoyed my time in RPW, and I learn a lot from the ladies there

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]berryokt0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Neat, thanks! I know you have a lot of subreddits, I have seen your name many times :)

[–]AFormidableContenderPurple Pill Man1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I feel like this is one of those times where what someone means is not at all what they actually say even though they said it properly. Can you explain pretty much all of this...? How does physical harm improve your relation and how does corporal punishment come into things?

[–]berryokt0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I am not being harmed, he leaves no permanent marks on my body nor does he injure me. If I refuse a command from him or get out of line with my words, he might discipline me with anything from holding me down to restrain me, smacking my face or forcing his will upon me sexually. I can say from experience that these things take any and all fight out of me immediately and there is a reason I obey him completely, this doesn't new to happen often. Whether the woman needs to be punished or not is mostly up to her on how she acts. I respect my husband very much because I know he does these things for the right reasons, he is powerful and strong and he has dominance over me a his woman. I believe it is his right as a man.

[–]M_rafayCrimson Red0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Hm, no, I think physical discipline is over the top in any case. With good frame control that should never be necessary.

[–]berryokt0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Frame in a man is of the utmost importance, but there are times where a woman might refuse to do something, perhaps out of pride, making a stand for herself. In times like that, at least from my husband to me, the warning followed up by a good smack will take any resistance out of me and the situation is back in his hands where it belongs. My view is that red pill teaches us that the situation should never be out of the man's hands to begin with, but if there is a time when it is, physical discipline done out of punishment and not anger ends any argument immediately. I think the disagreement is that red pill relationships maintain the premise that husband and wife are equal partners, where in our relationship, i am not my husband's equal.

[–]We_Are_LegionAutumn Red0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

i am not my husband's equal.

Hmm... to go off-topic to the thread, why do you think that is?

I'm not going to argue on the basis of physical violence as a means. That'd be a moralistic fallacy. It can work and very well too. I'm merely pointing out that the RP ideal relationship is intended on separating the woman and man into two equally important yet distinct roles that complement each other. The basis of roles is our understanding of human nature. Couples who feel that this system makes sense adopt this system, and modify it to their specific needs. Both partners out of their own free, informed will.

This is in contrast to the BP version where its basically two people carrying out a social script of feminism that they don't understand, and basically boils down to two people competing to occupy the same position in the social dynamic. Even seemingly RP relationships where the man is incharge but does so without being informed of it, are not really RP relationships. There needs to be mutual responsibility between partners. Between equals.

Now see, the point about choosing this is important. The wife submits out of her own free will. She knows that the man occupies the leading role. She has her own role. She doesn't need to be smacked around to do so.

This forms the basis for a redpill relationship.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, this is why she was banned from RPW. We don't want ANY part of this.

[–]AFormidableContenderPurple Pill Man0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago* (11 children) | Copy Link

RPW are no different than women who take part in extremist BluePill subs like /r/AskWoman. They just have a different extremist tilt.

Women tend to "nest"; when they get together in primarily female spaces meant for discussion, they become radically in-group biased and shit on anyone who tries to penetrate that.

Women are very codependant creatures....they can't really exist without constant validation from a peer group, and the moral behaviour of the group doesn't seem to matter so long as they have one.

[–]Scarlett_Begonias[S] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I guess I just can't seem to find my group. I've never successfully joined a group of girls or women.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Me either. But I've come to embrace it. To me it means that I am not a mindless drone that will do or say anything just to be accepted, I am me, take it or leave it and have a nice life cause I sure am.

[–]Scarlett_Begonias[S] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's much easier to deal with now that I have a long term SO and a child and a very close relationship with my family. When I was younger I felt my lack of girlfriends keenly, but now I have no time for social life outside of family stuff anyways!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm picking up what your putting down. I could say the same thing. Family is what matters, friends, especially female friends just cause drama.

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago* (5 children) | Copy Link

This is a false explanation for why RPW bans so much. Anyone who is not Feminist, SJW or Leftist who tries to run any movement, group, or discussion space knows that left unchecked, Feminists, SJWs and Leftists will take over any space via the Dialectic method. Any space that isn't vigilantly non-Feminist, non-SJW or non-Leftist will become so overnight. The entire demand that TRP and RPW be more "open to dialogue" is a ploy to coerce them into opening up their space to Feminists, SJWs and Leftists to take it over.

You will notice there is no demand anywhere for /r/polyamory to "open itself to dialogue" on the merits of their lifestyle, nor are there EVER any posts disputing the validity of their lifestyle or beliefs. This is because it is OF Feminism, SJW and Leftism, so there's no need to take it over, so no one of the type of person who demands dialogue cares if they are a closed community or not.

[–]AFormidableContenderPurple Pill Man0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Not every space is a debate space. Sometimes people just want to hang out with like minded people. Christian, Muslim, gay, transsexual, leftist and atheist forums don't spend all their time and energy defending their beliefs from people with different worldviews and neither do we. That's why ppd arose, for the people who did debate and hash out. You are saying our views are "out there" as if that's some kind of fact or anything but content-free shaming. "Out there" just means "I don't agree with it when it veers too far from conventional wisdom" .

[–]AFormidableContenderPurple Pill Man0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

That argument works so long as your subreddits isn't the face of your structure of belief. When people find RPW, they are naturally going to be inquisitive, and banning everyone who doesn't accept some pretty loony tunes concepts even for RedPills at face value just makes you look petty and intolerant like BluePill extremist subs.

And that's before you take into account the poor selection of moderators leading that community in the first place.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

We never ban people for "not accepting our beliefs" EVER. We ban them for feminism, dialectic tactics, giving bad non-RP advice to people seeking RPW advice and being obnoxious when told to stop, concern trolling, bashing TRP and posting on TBP. No one has any rights on our sub, it's not a democracy, if anyone doesn't like it they can click the red X.

[–]AFormidableContenderPurple Pill Man0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

We never ban people for "not accepting our beliefs" EVER.

That's a disigenguous statement if I've ever heard one. At the very least, you and the ladies make it pretty intolerable for people trying to understand where you're coming from, and at most, you most certainly have banned people for not falling in step.

No one has any rights on our sub, it's not a democracy, if anyone doesn't like it they can click the red X.

Of course it's not a democracy. That doesn't mean the manner in which your mods conducts their subreddit and themselves doesn't reflect (poorly) on them/you.

Like I said before, I was banned for pointing out the logical inconsistencies in a new mod rule because it was a legitimately retarded and offensive rule. (You wanted to make it so non RPW people couldn't inquire about your world view of disposition of the posters in the subreddit) Not that it ever mattered to me as I never participated in the sub in any serious way, but I think your placing more value in in the validation of the female moderators who seem to own your integrity at the moment, than you do in the building blocks of a worthwhile and attention grabbing subreddit.
