It was like this growing up as well. I grew up in a pretty rough neighborhood where kids would get clowned for not having Jordan's or the freshest clothes when in reality, we were all poor regardless of what we wore.

Yeah, I don't want to reeee but yeah , if you aren't super attractive as black man approaching a black woman you better be above average in every other department or they won't give you the time of day and they will tell you exactly why. This is good because you know why you aren't getting any responses. This is bad because being black usually means you are starting of from a worse place so acquiring these things will always be significantly harder for you than any other group people. Also the same woman who are holding you to these standards will completely throw them away for the tall dark and handsome types of straight up criminals, they will gladly get pregnant and raise their spawn with no help from those men while looking at men who make the same money as them as losers.

I’m a BW but I haven’t dated a BM so I don’t have much to personally contribute. I don’t know many black people who are in relationships with other black people.

From what I’ve seen from my parents, aunts and uncles, and a few friends and family, if you don’t ask then they will never answer you. You can go years without the other person helping you or giving you anything. For the black women who have dated black men that I know, their men are always there, they just don’t help them in any way. I feel like it’s everyone being tired of struggle love.

Have never dated a Black guy but I'm not opposed to it under the right circumstances.

Going to a predominantly white college (and now a grad program that has literally one other Black guy besides me but he's from Africa) it was always just more convenient to keep my options open. When the Black woman to Black man ratio in a given environment is like 10:1 any given Black guy has probably dated all of your Black friends. I really value my friendships with other Black women because I didn't have that in high school so I really don't want to get involved in that kind of mess.

Black culture prides itself on being much more up front and authentic. While white women are fretting about how stating a given preference might make them look, lower class black women with no social standing to really lose can be very upfront about what they want and what turns them on.

Yep. When you grow up watching movies where we play the gangsta or whatever negative role to our stereotype this is what you get. Coming from a city where black women who end up being single moms in their early 20's and think the new guy is supposed to provide for them. Hell naw. When I was 21 and couldn't get laid for shit, I met this girl who was 25 with 2 kids and she thought because I was in college and worked at Best Buy that I was on the road to providing for her. Cut that girl off real quick, plus the bish was playing games.

Then I realized a lot of bw are like that, especially in ATL. Thats why men going elsewhere. You should see how bw seethe when they see a bm with a girl of a different race.

I’m not black, but I can empathise since I experience very similar things in dating within my own culture, things like material possession and getting grilled by not only the partner but the partners family is pretty normal. It’s not only money too sometimes, sometimes is job prestige, and money in itself is not enough to be approved of.

Blacks are much more materialistic than other cultures. I mean they buy clothes that goes out of style in 5 years. You get a good suit? Suits never go out of style. Sure leisure suits and whatever but for the most part a guy with a suit will always look good.

I mean it’s like a spectrum most women don’t really care ..but there are a lot of black women who just want their man to be providers..cuz a lot of niggas be using women ..like imagine chads but 100x worse..they just treat women any kind of way..the women usually stays and puts up wit it while saying the famous “Niggas ain’t shit” line…but yea slot of men live off women and know how to talk their way out of things..you know a chad..basically everything y’all talk about but worse…but the good part is some women are completely different..it’s mainly hood black women and men they do this..a black guy in the burbs will be like any other guy ..even most black guys in the hood have wives ..like most of my older male family members are married or engaged..but younger years br hell for both men and women..that’s ..women will pick the hood dude over the athletes..that’s how intoxicating they be with unstable guys..I think the lack of fathers have a heavy correlation..my sisters have been thru this for example..I’m not just speaking from a man’s pov I’ve seen my sister have my brother fight her bf just to get back with him..my brother to this day holds it over her head..mind you bro was in the streets no job doing illegal activities cheating on his girlfriend with his second girlfriend (ending up getting his side girl pregnant) while he was a cool dude his red flags were obvious… this is also why violence is so high our community..men fighting over women is literally 50% of why gangs start even beefing with one another..like y’all would go insane with the statistics if sb studied ts..your girl getting snatched is easier in this culture then any..but it’s the same for the women also..this is also why a lot of black men who aren’t from as hood date out with white women or other women..they can escape the pressure of having to be this tuff ahh guy all the time…but regular black women..like the middle clas and upper are usually more normal and like every other women..African women don’t tolerate gangbanging but will stay with abusive men..Caribbean women are like African women..black ghetto women are the worst in dating terms..and yes you’ll lose your girl cuz the next guy got more money then you..all the things that’s discussed here but tuned up to 11…for exclusively hood/ghetto black women..tho half can be decent women…
