Something I always found rather interesting, as someone that has an interest in organizational behavior (and for that matter, whose partner is an HR director), is how people's gendered behavior manifests in workplaces.

Below are a series of questions to spur discussion on the topic

  1. In your workplace, how do you see gendered behaviors manifest. Do men and women act in meaningfully different ways? If so, how?

  2. Is dating in your workplace common? What industry is this in?

  3. Describe the culture of your workplace. What is considered in-bounds and what is considered out-of-bounds?

  4. What behaviors do you often witness in the workplace that you personally do not want to see in the workplace? Are they propagated primarily by men, by women, or by both evenly.

  5. For those who have a history of multiple employers in the same industry, do the workplace cultures regarding dating and interactions between men and women have common threads?

  6. Who shapes the culture of your organization? Where do you believe the behavior standards for your organization came from? Who shapes those standards day-to-day?

I may speak to my own experience in my responses, but I mainly just want to hear about people's experiences.
