A common defense of some of the worst parts of TRP is that vile things are tolerated there in the name of free speech. Just how far does this principle extend?

Moderators still ban and delete plenty. Here is a recent exchange that got nuked though it seems otherwise unremarkable for TRP. Here moderators removed a submission well after a moderator contributed to that submission. Many share anecdotes of their "hard mode ban" from redpill subreddits, being banned without ever contributing. Others complain of being banned for sincerely criticizing a problem.

There seems to be plenty removed not because of apparent trolling but purely to improve the brand-appearance of TRP. If so this would certainly undercut the use of "free speech" as a defense of the problems in TRP, and would undercut the claim that TRP is freely discussing controversial ideas without bias.
