I looked at my dog and vaguely remembered hearing a point made by an equestrian a while back. She pointed out a difference in skill structure that often distinguishes prey animals from predator animals. Predators have their eyes on the front of their heads, they have sharper, more jagged teeth, they’re usually more powerful at the expense of having less stamina.

These are (some of) the tools predators use to get what they want and need. Prey, in contrast with the predators innate desire to kill it, wants to live. To that end, they’ve evolved characteristics to help them do that.

Eyes on the sides of their skulls, more/better eye mobility (some eyes even move independently of one another), they have weaker jaws and fuller teeth, sometimes they’ll be much lighter, enabling higher running speeds with less energy expense, some prey will employ some incredible camouflage like some species of octopus or the cuddle fish.

The point of all of this is that even on its face it’s entirely ridiculous to imagine a press conference of predators complaining about dishonest moths that look like wasps, dishonest octopuseseseses (however the fuck) that look like the ocean floor, or about the immorality of running away from an injured tiger and thus depriving the hungry tiger of a meal.

As Lil Dicky said, “We go hard on earth...”

I read someone recently say that men are women’s natural predators. I think there’s a lot of truth to that and I’m viewing things through that lens, a lot of what happens between men and women in the dating world makes sense.

If you’re a woman and you only want sex or relationships with the absolute best options accessible to you, you’d be well suited to being selective. It would benefit you discourage unattractive men, shy men, socially awkward men from approaching you. There’s tons of nuance and social phenomena at play here.

It is in a woman’s interest to not have a timid partner who’s afraid to take risks. It would be a disadvantage in her children if she had them and they inherited that quality. So being “unapproachable” can be a viable strategy for women because the men who won’t approach aren’t men she’d want anyway, and the ones who will may be.

It seems to me it would better serve the men here who want sympathy or ideological consistency or empathy or an end to the shaming to learn to be better hunters. I’m sure a hungry lion would quite appreciate a gazelle walking up and laying down in front of him. That will never happen except for in the rarest of cases (maybe illness or injury or something random happens). So that lion better learn to hunt if he wants to eat.

When people here are telling you to learn to enjoy being social and talking to women, it isn’t disingenuous, it’s earnest advice that would benefit YOU.
