Overthinking it. But yeah in our hyper connected world, if a person takes too long to text back they either are

1) Just way too busy.

2) Don't feel like texting you back.

Small talk over text is lame anyway, imo, just communicate and tell him you've been busy, then you set up a time to meet up.

It's totally fine to wait until the actual date for ''small talk.'' You don't have any obligation to use texting for anything except logistics. In fact, it's usually better that way. If he's a normal, well-adjusted person, he shouldn't have any problem with a more sporadic texting pattern.

Yes. Like if a girl takes more than 3 days(3 is being super generous, I cut them off at 2 ), I lose feelings. Here's how it works for me, if a chick shows a lot of interest from the get go, depending on the chick herself, I'll ask out. Now if I don't see a girl in person too often(once or twice a week is enough for me), then we better be texting. If at any point I perceive she's lost interest, I'm gonna ghost and possibly never contact her. Might even delete her number

It very much depends on the girl. You should just tell him that you don't like texting and that you hope he doesn't think you're about to ghost him because of that.

How did you meet?

All in all seems like he's interested. Tell him you suck at texting and prevent checking your phone as it's one of your procrastination outlets (good one) so he gets cool about you taking longer than him to reply, but waiting hours isn't a big deal, waiting DAYS is.

For us it's HELLISH to set dates with a week in advance or so. We have the understanding that we need to keep the girl's interest, the "spark" alive, otherwise she'll flake, so we end up grasping on straws to develop ANY thread before we can get the date, and that sucks a lot. The best idea (for us) is not to set dates with so much antecedence because of it.
You might TRY to mitigate it for him by adding an eventual "looking forward to (day)", so maybe he stops trying to maintain conversation. I'm not sure it'll work though.

I'd love it if a women told me she hated texting. That way there'd be no way she could get pissy about me only texting her every other day or so.
