Can only answer for myself:

Equality means that every has access to equal opportunities.

If a woman wants to become a construction worker, she has that opportunity - doesn't mean she'll be skilled enough to get hired, but that she has to opportunity to apply for the job in the first place.

I believe in equality opportunity. That being said what's equal isn't always fair. This is why I believe equal opportunity shouldn't just be 'allowed to put an application in' but instead, also putting in measures to make groups who might not be selected, given them a fighting chance. I am not for affirmative action, I am for blind applications. I am also for providing all the necessary necessities early on in life. This includes everything from prenatal life to end of high school.

The universe doesn't care if you are a gas station attendant or Donald Trump. We are all ultimately just animals with no inherent value. In a few billion years or less, none of this will matter.
We can acquire value by obtaining qualities or resources that benefit other people in some way.
We also inherently value ourselves, and so does our family to a lesser degree. Gas station attendant values himself just as much as Donald Trump, even if Donald Trump has more value to other people.
Equality is an acknowledgment that although we all ultimately have no value, and we all have different value to other people, we all still value ourselves.
Thus we form a mutual agreement that one person's needs are not more important than another's, and the foundation for our interactions with people will be based on the universal value each person has for themselves, and not their value to other people.

Equality is the state of being equal. What exactly it means depends on the context. You're right, it can be a buzz word just because of how vague it is. Generally when I use it, I mean in a political sense. Men and women should be given the same rights, opportunities, and responsibilities by the government. I'll use egalitarian a lot, but more in terms of relationships and power. As in, the power is roughly evenly split between the man and woman. Past that I'll try to specify, like "equality in housework"means we do equal housework.

Some feminists seem to think men and women should have equality in social perception. You don't assume a man is better or worse at something because of his gender.

Meritocracy.

But the only way to actually grade that is if everyone starts with the same opportunities in life. They do not. Also, to really judge based upon talent, you must remove all prejudices.

RP actively supports prejudices which is why it's so often and so adamantly opposed.

I think a lot of young liberals adopt this view of equality because it makes them feel like they personally aren't contributing to the systematic oppression of various groups of people. I still consider myself mostly a "leftie", but this idea that we can all be equal regardless of our gender, sexuality, race, etc. is unrealistic. We will never be 100% equal, in the eyes of the law, society, or anything else. "Equal opportunities" don't exist. A poor kid from a broken home in a crumbling public school system technically has the same opportunities to succeed as a privileged middle-class private school kid, but it is a hell of a lot easier to achieve success when these opportunities are well with your reach.

To me, it means everyone having an equal opportunity to be and do what they wish. It means treating others without regard to outward appearance. Recognizing that everyone has the potential to do great things, only held back by their individual talent and drive.

This is incorrect though. Leftists don't encourage being blind to gender, race or sexuality. See terms like 'white privilege' or 'straight privilege' etc. The left encourage analyzing how race, sex, etc impact things, and notes disparities where they exist.

Equality to me means both equal opportunity, and treating people equally and with equal dignity regardless of their intrinsic and benign traits.

For example, the life of one CEO is equal to one janitor. It would be unconscionable if two of them came into the ER together, for all the doctors to go help the CEO.

To me, it means everyone begins with a blank slate, and a path free of prejudice, not that they necessarily end up where they want to be.

A SEAL who can't keep up with her teammates risks all their lives. And while a hack Hollywood screenwriter can imagine all the reasons Scientology is right about mental health/emotional support, and the redpill will happily applaud every scene, the fact is that traditionally feminine virtues save lives in quieter fashion, every single day.

With that said, some people aren't satisfied with this.

They want us to believe nobody wants to see a woman kick ass, no matter how popular that trope is, whether it's UFC or Rey with a lightsaber. They pretend women make bad bosses, even if female CEOs are, overall, less likely to take wild risks with the share holder's money.

And, of course, they claim that kind men are lonely men. Or that you can't trust us around kids.

It's those people who the bluepill takes particular issue with. Society has suffered enough, because of ancient mythology.
