Im happy with average looking women as Im average myself and I dont have the pretense of dating above my league. but women seldom pursue men unless they are alphas as it's been alredy duly pointed out.

Average looking in my college would be flattering, as the average girl is at least kind of cute.

Average woman overall in America is obese, so I would be annoyed and uninterested.

Wtf do you mean by "average"? Someone I'm not attracted to? Someone statistically in the middle quadrant in the world population in terms of physical features? Someone in the middle of the spectrum in terms of perceived SMV? Someone who fits in to the mean of the social classes?

Men see attraction differently from the way women see it. For men, most women are attractive -- attractive enough to bang, for sure. A slightly smaller bandwidth of women are attractive enough to consider for a relationship (i.e. banging on a regular basis).

Men only get "disgusted" when girls they consider unattractive pursue them. And men have a hard "attraction floor" below which they absolutely will not go for sex. If she is not attractive to him, he won't give her anything, not even minimal attention. But only a small swath of girls are "unattractive" in this way.

It's flattering but it depends on what side of average she is on and what she is pursuing me for.

No one is perfectly average: it's almost mathematically impossible in a large population. There will be an average range and opinions will differ as to where any particular person would fit into that range. At what I consider the higher end of that range I would go for it, at the lower range, probably not.

Just for a bang, we might indulge ourselves but in terms of a relationship, I simply won't get into that with someone who I don't consider at least at the high end of average.

The national median age is 37.2, and I believe it skews somewhat older for women. The average adult woman has a BMI of 26.5, which is somewhere between chubby and heavy. And the median income for women of that age is about $40,000/year (which affects how well she can dress, etc.). Looking at census data, we can also see that 61% of women in that age bracket are married, and only 21% have never been married. So we should assume that the average woman is married, too.

So if a chubby, married, 37-year-old woman who earns $40K/year hits on a typical 20-something, he's mostly going to be weirded out. There are a few guys that age who are into older women, but generally they're most interested in the ones that take pretty good care of themselves. I suppose that male thirst being what it is, our hypothetical woman could find somebody eventually, but the search wouldn't be especially dignified.

As for me personally, I'm married and faithful, and so I'd additionally need to assume that a woman who pursued me would have some pretty trashy moral character. So I'd freeze her out, hard, and avoid her in the future.

Long ago when I was young and single, I was generally flattered by interest from single women my own age. But there were some whom didn't interest me at all, and at least one of them was persistent enough and immune enough to polite hints that I was bothered by it.

Totally flattered whenever it happens. I make it a habit to put them down lightly and never ghost them. If they are actually fun to chill with I'll hang out and try to hook them up with my other guy friends and let them know without being mean that I'm interested in other women.

The thing with women who are truly average looking is they usually have enough options in the dating market as not to get hung up on just one guy.

Women do not pursue men, unless the man you are talking about is an alpha. Women do not display sexual interest in men who aren't alpha, and women only flirt with men who aren't alpha if their intention is to get attention and aren't interested in anything more.
