IMO, yes.

But also IMO... Divorce in case of failing to provide a reasonable sex life for your partner should involve significantly less penalties for the "unsatisfied" partner than it does today. Usually the man.

I'd be happy for unsatisfied men to be barred from rape... But to continue to receive full income post divorce if this was the fault. No alimony, basically and full shares in wealth (genuine child support moneys should remain fine).

From a biblical perspective, there's no such thing as spousal rape. From a contractual perspective, there's reasonably no such thing.

Yes. Just because you get married does not mean you should lose all bodily autonomy in the least. If I'm on my period, or feeling unwell, or emotionally neglected, my husband should not have "the right" to force sex upon me because we signed a piece of paper. Nor should I have the right to force sex upon him if he were similarly indisposed. Although - as I've said before - it is far less likely I'd succeed in using force to obtain sex from him than vice versa.

However I am firmly in favor of being able to cite a lack of sex as cause for disillusion of marriage (i.e., "at fault" divorces) if the situation (denial of sex) was persistent/ongoing.

Yes, of course. Except for technical inability to consent because "I was drunk" rape. I hardly consider that rape anyway, but I understand for the need for that to be illegal when it comes to unmarried sexual encounters, but if you're married, you should be allowed to have sex with your wife while you're intoxiciated, and not fear having "he raped me every friday and saturday night for years" brought up in a divorce trial.

It is highly pointless question. Isn't it already hard enough to deal with firebreathing wives sometimes? Try doing that to her and you will have the mother of all dragons to deal with as long as your marriage lasts, which is to say not long. What idiotic man would try that? Usually you get the firebreath because e.g. some asshole customer at work made her upset and she is taking it out on you. So why would you try to make her like 100 times more upset by this? She will take every gram of that pain 100 times out on you, making your life a hell.

You know how typically men want calm and tranquil airs at home and women often enjoy or can tolerate a bad mood longer? You just ensured forever bad mood, enjoy that home now.

It seems to me the only way a man could do this and not turn his domestic life into hell is he would also beat her every time she breaths fire. It would still not bring good moods into the house but at least it would bring silence. Which is its own set of problems, besides the issue that if you beat someone, you probably don't love her.

But if even that was legal, the next escalation step would be getting your dinner poisoned.

Ultimately, why would a man want to turn his significant other into his enemy? Why would you want to hurt someone you, at the end of the day, love ?

This just makes no sense to me at all why would this ever happen.

I think each couple could come to an agreement if sexual access is a part of the contract (and thus never rape) or it's not a part of the contract.

If you're gonna arrest a man for "raping" his wife, then when are we going to start arresting women for "stealing" his money to go shopping at the mall, or for Grand Theft Auto when she takes his car without asking?

And while we're at it, when are we going to arrest women for rape when they have sex with their husbands with the intent of becoming pregnant and saddling him with the obligation of raising offspring, against his will?

There should be immunity from the specific general intent crime of rape because of the intimate, sexual and private nature of marriage, but not from any other charges an ostensible marital "rape" could entail such as aggravated assault and battery.
