I write code for satellite management software. It’s nice because it’s niche enough that we have roughly similar interests. In my experience engineering isn’t without its share of sexists and drama-magnets, but because so many of us kind of had to manually socialize ourselves, it’s easy to find groups that manually prune out assholes and actively intercept drama-causing situations. I mean, we took classes in intra-team communication and risk management, haha
