Popular culture. On TV the man is the idiot and the woman is the boss in the relationship. Everyone thinks this is an acceptable dynamic.

Women are encouraged to experiment and find themselves through sex. I think volunteering and being a service to others is a much better way, but that's just me I guess.

I think it's the instant gratification culture. Cultivating a loving, respectful relationship forever is too much work. Why not just cheat/be polygamous/have three-somes/etc? You'll be satisfied in that moment and perhaps for a few weeks/months, but those relationships almost never work long-term. Also people want to pressure you into being as miserable as themselves. Misery loves company, as they say. My philosophy is: I don't want person X's advice, but if I do they better have some good shit to offer.

The best prevention is to marry a man who doesn't need you to nag, someone who will take the trash out, do the dishes, mow the lawn, because he's an adult, not because of your negative reinforcement.

I have never understood the euphemism behind 'experimenting' and 'finding yourself' through sex. I don't think people have sex to 'find themselves'. I am saying this as someone who has had more than a few partners. I never felt like I was 'experimenting' or 'finding myself' when I got with a man. I just happened to meet a man who I found attractive and felt willing to be physical with him, I wasn't adding anything onto myself or gaining any sort of superior knowledge by doing so, I was just following a physical urge I had. There's really nothing more complex about it than that. I think it's just one of those feel good things that women say to cheer themselves on. They feel ashamed of it or they feel like everything they choose to do in life has to have some complex and deep meaning behind it which in itself kind of signals narcissism. I'm always wary of people who say things like that.

1: Nagging - Because you can't hit us. Well, you can, but it's only in the last 40 years where that would actually get you anywhere. Not all women learn the difference between honey and vinegar. If the vagina exerts enough pressure then most men will bend. This is still inferior to honey (think Cleopatra), but it's been working like a charm since forever.

2: "Sex Positivity" - There are very powerful people out there who do not want us making strong families. With strong families, the men would have something to protect, meaning corporations couldn't get away with half the shit they do because strong families form strong communities which form strong cultures and governments.

If everyone is of the opinion, "Who gives a fuck? Nothing matters, just live your life, be happy, #YOLO" then you reshape culture/government (happens almost simultaneously because our laws reflect our social values) to weaken communities and disrupt the formation of families. This allows corporations to dissolve borders into nothing, enabling them to sue countries; aka, governments, aka national communities and by extension, us as individuals; and makes chattel of human beings because our society is hyper-individualized and each individual's support network is much smaller than what it was before Feminism; a result of weaker families/communities.

If you've ever wondered about the end goal of Feminism, that's it. The reason it's not called Masculinism is because women are easier to control and by controlling the women then you have control of the men.

edit: "Easier to control? Ugh..." I know. Look, the Serpent (corporations, meaning media/gov't) couldn't convince Adam to bite the apple (blue pill). It could convince Eve, though ("you can have it all!"). Adam ate the blue pill (apple) because Eve told him to ("be soft and sensitive!"), not because he wanted to give up his masculinity (Eden).

Nagging is just a problem of over reaching in the context of you helping your partner, communicating frustrations, and helping the relationship.

I rarely find naggers. I'm stubborn so sometimes it's nessesary for multiple reminders to exist.

Yes. When I made my "debut" into cooperate America I realize everyone kinda wants to encourage you to be like them. Or worse. I was encouraged to drink and try drugs. I didn't have a strong value system.

I think it happens when people lack boundaries. A lot of people are selfish and un-empathetic towards others.

Personally, growing up I hadn't many male figures in my life. I think the women in my life thought of men as children.

Anyway does anyone else get people encouraging them to nag? I've been with my boyfriend for almost two years and I try incredibly hard not to nag. I don't want to say I NEVER have but I can't think of an instance where I have. Why is it a popular, accepted thing for a woman to nag?

I definitely haven't been myself, but have seen this implied to other people. I've been repeatedly advised not to nag by older women, completely unprompted, and without any reason to think this advice was relevant (nagging is not a thing that happens in my relationship, and I am too private for many people to get much idea of my relationship anyway). But every wedding I go to seems to include jokes normalising nagging, normalising the idea that the wife should be critical and the husband is signing up to a life of doing whatever she says. I find those jokes very uncomfortable. Even aside from that being an awful dynamic to promote, the brides didn't have that personality.

I have had it suggested to me - again, unprompted and unwanted - that I'm perhaps too nice and easygoing towards my boyfriend, that I give him too much freedom, and that men like women who are more demanding and a little difficult. But I'm just behaving in the way that comes naturally to me, it suits me, and it's going fine.

I've never been one to sleep or even date around. It seems like people think in today's society that a woman should sleep around. Does anyone else ever encounter this? I'm not saying I'm going to cheat or nag. Just wondering why these things seem so accepted.

Years ago when I was an 18 year old virgin, a group of happily married older women were telling me to play the field and not settle down with the first boyfriend I had. They grew up in the era of free love when that was the done thing, and it seemed to have worked well for them. They weren't advocating for sleeping around, but certainly for being a little less serious and a little more free. But that wasn't my style then and still isn't now. For me, sex and love go together, not sex and friendship. That being said, I am unbelievably glad I didn't settle down with my first boyfriend - what a disaster that would have been.

I have never, ever heard anyone advocate for cheating. Quite the opposite.

Flash news, the majority of people are retarded hedonistics that can't understand that the real good things in life take effort, they realize deep down how miserable they are and in order to feel better about themselves they drag others to their misery.
