So, me and my SO are long distance he lives in my Birth Country and I am living across the ocean from him. Today is my birthday, and I was hoping that he would at least call me to tell me Happy Birthday. He knows that it's hard for me right now, I am living away from my mom who raised me with my dad who is in a bad financial situation while I go to college. The environment is pretty stressful and no one really seems to care that it's my birthday, but that's just how they are here. I don't really mind it. Anyways, I wake up and message him waiting for him to ask me if he could call me. He writes me a one message response telling me "Happy Birthday". I wait a few hours and message him again, yet nothing. To specify I turned 20 which is seen as a big deal where I'm from and usually we would throw huge parties and invite the whole family. Finally, I ask him why he didnt call me and it ends up that he didnt call me because he was outside when I woke up. So, I ask him why he didnt at least call me later and he said he was drinking with his cousin. When it was his birthday, I was on break, I brought a ticket to fly to be with him for the break and bought a $300 watch as a gift. Then on his birthday his family threw a huge party, then we went to a bar where I paid for everything, and I let him do something he had always wanted to do in the bedroom. I feel like im just over reacting because of my life situation at the moment. Any advice would be appreciated.
