I don't have much experience with dating. I recently ended it with the first person I have ever dated. The first time I met him I felt really smitten already after the first date. When he stood close to me I felt my whole body reacting and I really fell for him, a bit too fast and too hard you could even say.

Yesterday I was on a first date with a guy, he seems really good in every aspect of what I am looking for. We share the same values, he loves animals, he takes the lead, confidence, he wants a family etc. But I don't really feel anything yet. I would like to meet him again to see if I could feel more after spending more time with him, but right now I could't care less if I ever heard from him again.

I really don't know what is normal, should you at least have some feelings after the first date, or is it normal to have a good time together, laugh, easy talking, and have the feelings not show up before after some time? I know it's a weird question, but I really have no idea what is normal. Before my first date with the other guy I was extremely nervous, didn't know what to expect, very emotional and everything, so I was thinking maybe my feelings for him also got stronger because I was feeling stronger in every way in general (not because of him, but it was a lot of stuff going on in my life...). Or is this how it should be? Should you have that strong spark after the first date? Should I even meet this guy again or is it futile?

Edit: I decided not to meet up with him again. I think I need to be better at following my gut feeling. I am really good at it in general, but when it comes to dating etc. I tend to push it aside... :)
