Let me first say, I love my fiancé and he is NOT what anyone would call “unhygienic.” He is a rather rugged man with a big beard, likes to lift weights, and revels in the traditional notion that men should be manly in appearance and behavior. He is a musician and has an artistic soul. Unique and not your typical 9-5 guy. Now, that said…there are times when he lets himself go a few days without showering and a few nights without brushing his teeth. I know he won’t ever be a high maintenance kind of man, but honestly, when he does clean up, man does he clean up nice!! I find myself being so much more attracted to him when he’s fresh out the shower, deodorant on, beard groomed, beard oil applied, teeth cleaned, and maybe a spritz of Tom Fire Tobacco Vanille to top it off…I just melt! I wish he would be just a tad more into grooming and self care. Not asking for like metrosexual level stuff or anything, I like a manly man, but a little extra time spent on hygiene would just go so far in making me feel physically attracted to him. What do you guys suggest? How do I tell him these things without hurting feelings, sounding shallow, or causing a fight?
