I am not a millionaire, but I have enough money to complicate things for a young woman. I am engaged now and my fiance is the only person with whom I have discussed my long range finances.

While dating, I just don't share that I am sitting on this money. It helps that I don't wear designer or very expensive clothes, live modestly, and don't work in a profession which earns a lot of money. People don't automatically assume I have money the way they might if you were a surgeon or investment banker. We get to know each other on a simpler and easier basis this way. They see me exactly as I am and as I like to live.

I never lie and say that I am poor, but I don't discuss finances at all until I have established trust, connection, and commitment. If you're letting the man lead the pace at which you're getting to know each other, you start off with a sense of his finances before you explain your own.

In my experience a man doesn't care how much you make, he cares about what womanly value you bring to his life. I have mostly out earned my life mate and it is a partnership. Take money out of the picture and approach relationships like that. Be respectful, kind, cook, be a good lover, pleasant, take care of yourself. Plenty of rich fat, crass spinsters out there.

Why are you busy worrying about something you haven’t achieved? Worry about the things directly in your control, you’ll figure out the rest.

If you do make a million, check out the book the Millionaire Next Door. Use strategies like that to avoid lifestyle creep. Don’t reveal your full financial situation until you are engaged.

A confident man is looking for a competent first mate, not a poor woman to rescue financially. Bringing wealth to the table is an asset, so long as you maintain all the other feminine qualities a man desires.

You don't tell anyone what you're worth. Ever. Lie if you need to. A small inheritance or lottery if you need to make a big purchase. Money changes people, including your friends and family let alone looking for a partner. Trust me, you'll be happier if as few people as possible know. At least this way you can live a normal upper middle or lower 1% lifestyle.

But you can use your position to go to conventions or have an excuse to meet wealthier men and get a higher earning partner. If you don't end up with someone who out earns you, be worried about divorce and prenups.

I have the same problems . I think perhaps you have to find someone that is in a similar situation financially, that could be easier.

I mean, you're not a millionaire yet. So you can use this current time to vet for men with a provider mentality and set the relationship into that romantic dynamic. At that point, any extra earnings on your end will be a happy surprise rather than a major deciding factor.

In general, don't talk about money. And especially don't say things like "I anticipate my business taking off and becoming a millionaire" because honestly it sounds tacky and it's a masculine way of bragging.

I'm in a weird place as a medical student - currently "poor student" but on a pretty set path towards a 250k+ salary, likely around 500 with my intended specialty. I've had lots of weird experiences when lower earning men find out I'm going to be a doctor, especially when they perceive themselves to be high earning and expect to be a provider. I always tone down my career and am vague/modest about it, but many men have acted very insecure about it. "Finally I've met someone just as smart as me." "Shouldn't you be paying for this date? Har har" Overcompensating. Comparison games about who works harder. Etc. All very unattractive and makes it hard for me to respect the guy.

It's never really been a problem of weeding out gold diggers, as that's just not really a guy thing. You'd be surprised how highly men value their ego. Many would forego the extra money in order to avoid feeling emasculated.

Honestly I've had the best experience dating more successful men. I know TRP men will shit on this because of the whole "career woman trying to do hypergamy" thing, but it's honestly the only thing that works for me, as these men are confident in their position enough to not feel emasculated over mine. My current partner's confidence and self-assuredness allows me to submit and be my feminine self instead of feeling like there's some awkward power play going on. Since I'm still a student, he gets to be 100% the provider during courting and I get to look up to him. In the long run, we are both mutually assured that the other is not after money.

Being a millionaire probably won't complicate things unless you make it complicated. What generally happens is that successful, wealthy women tend to demand potential suitors to be perfect unicorns. Don't let your wealth and success raise your standard for men to a now impossible level that no man can fit. There's a ton of 40+ year old, highly wealthy, successful women out there that are all alone because no man is ever smart enough, educated enough, attractive enough, or wealthy enough for their million dollar ass.

I earn a very good wage for myself that is not in the millions by any means but it a lot more than my husband earns, parents have ever earned and more than most of my family and friends earn.

So far.... no one has noticed and my husband doesnt care. People assume I'm broke and I dont tell them any different. Most of my money goes on savings/investments/pensions and on my kid.

Sometimes if a guy is chatting with me and I tell him I'm in business and they ask how much i earn I'll tell them. It usually creates a feeling for them that they need to compete with me and they'll usually try and buy me an expensive drink or something.

The only problem I've had with people wanting to take from me is a single mum friend of mine who is out of work. I used to buy her lunch/drinks whenever we met up and she started asking to borrow money etc. When I stopped paying for her lunch she'd pretend that she had forgotten her purse and ask if she would give me the money back but never ever did. Once I stopped lending/buying she stopped hanging out with me and found a boyfriend to do it instead. It was kind of hard to accept that I was being used.

Once you start making money, just dont mess with broke people or people who take drugs and you will be fine.
