I just watched this Lauren Southern video.

I feel so demotivated. I understand that this video is targeted at women who do not realize that their youth will fade... but I think most women are aware that getting married becomes more difficult as you age. I'm painfully aware of it. Honestly, this video tore me up.

She makes it sound like if you don't get it right on the first try, you are a lost cause. I obviously thought I was going to marry my ex-boyfriends, but my past relationships did not work out. I'm not going around having sex with almost-strangers, but I have had sex with more than one person. I'm crying right now. I'm almost 25. I afraid that I'm never going to find anyone to love. I feel like I missed my chance. I wish I was lucky enough to get married to the first person I fell in love with.

In this day and age, it is not possible to find a level-headed, non-religious man who will wait until marriage to have sex. A good man will wait, but not until marriage. If I insisted on waiting until marriage, I would not have a chance of getting married. It's a catch 22. There is no chance I will get married if I have sex with another man. There is no chance I will get married if I don't have sex with another man.

I don't even know if I want to get married. I definitely do not want a wedding. Ideally, if I meet someone, I would like to elope with them. I would like to wear rings, but honestly throwing a wedding scares the heck out of me. I'm really conflicted because I know that family would not be enough to fulfill me. I need to work on something meaningful in the outside world too. According to all of the sources she sites, I'm totally fxcked.

The good news is that I'm very content with my life overall. I'm very happy being single. I see my single-ness as indefinite, but temporary. The thought of my single-ness being permanent is so scary. I want to share all of this beauty with someone. As beautiful as life is, it can also be bizarre and terrifying. No one wants to do it alone. I just want someone to hold close.

Most women aren't hoeing it up like she implies. Most women are looking for marriage (or a life long partner). I always hope my next relationship is the one that will work out. I'm trying, but according to her (and the entire RP sphere) I have already failed. It's easy to not sleep around. It's not easy to find a life long partner. It's trial and error. I don't know what else I can do.

I need advice. I also really need to hear personal stories from women who thought they were a lost cause, but made it out the other side. I need some motivation. I need to know that the struggle is worth it.
