Like anything else I think because it's the mainstream narrative a lot of women just follow it. If you are young and single, it takes a special kind of will power these days not to follow hook up culture since men expect it because most girls are doing it. It makes you feel like if you don't give it away he's going to go and get it somewhere else. This is why women as a whole need to make men work for it. It's no good just having a few women try and stay chaste.

I feel you hard on this one. Before I met my now bf, I was a virgin through and through, hadn't kissed a guy (except on the cheek lol), and no form of sexual intercourse ever. I had a few boyfriends but I never "gave it up". However, I felt really pressured to do so. By my friends, society as whole and the guys. I felt like I was "lame" or undesirable for being a virgin.

However, when I met my now boyfriend, he told me that he thought it was amazing and surprising that I still had my virginity at 18. I think he saw me as more desireable because I hadn't been sleeping around. He told me that it showed a sense of self-worth. I agree with him.

We've now been together for two years and I don't think that the lack of me sleeping around has diminished our sex lives. If anything, it makes it better. In your case, I wouldn't worry at all, you do you. You seem to be okay with not sleeping around, and I'd encourage you to follow that gut feeling. You'll be proven right when you meet the right guy. Also, I'm sure holding out on sex until you meet someone worthy of doing it with will make it that much better. I think self-restraint makes whatever you're doing that much more enjoyable, and I think that society as a whole doesn't encourage that. Note: obesity regarding food, sex, drugs, laziness. I know I'm rambling, but I guess a good way to sum it up would be that the act in of itself of holding off sex shows guys how you take it and yourself seriously, weak guys not worth your time will shy away from someone like that.

Yes, you are missing out on a good feeling (if you're lucky) that lasts anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours, as well as STDs and a decrease in SMV, although anonymity could counter that.

Sex will leave you no richer, no wiser, and no further ahead in life, so you can take solace in that. I think as a male it's somewhat different as having more sex ups my testosterone, or it feels like it does, and gives me motivation to accomplish other more important goals in my life. I do certainly agree though that sex with someone you know is almost always better than a one night stand. I prefer to have a series of longer romantic encounters for that reason.

Men aren't afraid to say they just want to hook up because there are plenty of women who will say yes. Also, western society doesn't punish those that are promiscuous.

Also, good instincts. Sleeping around does decrease your value. If you read the mens red pill, the common wisdom is that sluts don't make good wives. Slut being defined by any woman who can't be trusted not to sleep around (the number of sexual partners she had is irreverent). This common sense wisdom applies to men just as well. Man whores don't make good husbands.

Its perfectly ok to say no to any guy that just wants sex. A good partner would be a guy thats agrees that casual sex is bad.

Sex is fun, relationships are hard, it makes sense. It's not a good strategy, but it makes sense. Some people have higher libidos than others, and want sex more than they want to date around to find someone to be in a LTR with.

The important thing, I think, is you do YOU. If you feel that sleeping around decreases your value and self-respect, by all means don't do it! Stick to your guns and hold out for what you want.

21 and 4 guys already? Relatively little but still have 0 value in my books. You are already expired, no offense. This is why us men don't take you women seriously. I would only want a girl like you for sex. There is no way I want the head of my child coming out of a cavity that has the leftover DNA cream of 4 different guys, 2 of them filthy badboys with at least latent herpes.
