Hi All!

Sorry if I am posting a lot lately. I am just super excited about this lifestyle shift and what it is doing for my life :) Hope it is helpful!

Anyway, I have recently read the book The Compound Effect. Without writing a complete book summary, it talks about the power of small steps daily rather than large steps inconsistently. There are a ton of really great, powerful examples of how compounding interest and compounding decisions (like whether you hit snooze in the morning, or have just "one more cookie) and the long-term effects of these decisions in your life.

It was incredibly enlightening, and really got me to pay more attention to the smaller details that make me feel like a better woman, and in turn help my relationship. The "small" steps I have been working on in my life / relationship are the following:

1) I almost always make my bed every morning and add throw pillows. So simple, but I feel good spending the 3 minutes it takes to make the bed, to be able to come home to a clean room at the end of the day. I have been doing this for the last 6 months, and now it is second nature when I spend the night at my SO's house.

2) I started wearing lipstick about a year ago. Nothing crazy. But I really like the M.A.C. matte lipsticks in neutral or traditional colors. I wear minimal make up, but this touch has made me feel more feminine, pretty and confident.

3) Manicure / pedicure every other week. I have never been the type. But my SO notices when I take extra care of myself and it makes me feel better as well.

I am curious - What small ways do you all practice being more feminine and how does it make you feel?
