A lot of posts lately, before and after the subreddit lockdown, have been concerned about the whole #metoo movement affecting them. Many posts have suggested something to the effect of switching from pursuing women to going MGTOW. So here's a reminder:

TRP is not MGTOW is not PUA.

PUA is a quick and dirty result-focused application of some principles of the nature of females. The goal is to use the nature of women against them with the intent of getting laid. As such it is dependent on the responsiveness of women to this application, and therefore if women respond negatively, one must stop and change strategy.

MGTOW is anywhere between a cursory and through understanding of the nature of women coupled with a resolution to focus on oneself as a man. It is the opposite side of 'the manosphere' from PUA, as it not only does not treat sexual conquest as a goal, but actively rejects conquest as a waste of time.

TRP is somewhere in the middle, and at the same time distinctly different from the other categories. TRP applies understanding of the nature of women as a reason to develop oneself as a man, but does not treat sex as the goal and instead as a result, a secondary result to personal improvement at that.

It's not my place to opine as to which is "better" or "right", and you can switch between these philosophies any time. But they are different ways to live life; a PUA and MGTOW seek different things. Here on the Red Pill subreddit, it is a belief that sufficient frame and game is the proper course in the face of #metoo (ergo, nothing is different, but one may want to do a reality check on their circumstances and capabilities). For a PUA, laying low may be the course of action, or doing nothing as well. For a MGTOW, they'd always have stayed clear of the issue.

Another dumb hashtag movement does not necessitate a change in the philosophy or strategy itself. You may wish to change which strategy you adhere to, but the rules don't change because they aren't working for you. First check if you're playing by the rules, then consider which game you want to play. Also, while you're here, enjoy the decline.
