I have a good female friend who's been having problems in her LTR for a while now. She is keeping it together because they have a kid, but recently she straight up told me in exactly these words that she was a "Disney Princess girl" and "raised in that generation" and that she expects him to treat her like Cinderella or whatever. She openly stated that she knew a huge portion of their problems was due to her having expectations that don't make sense in reality, but then said it wasn't going to change.

What could I do? I patted her on the shoulder and changed the subject. She's a legitimately good friend, but she's still fundamentally a woman.

The problem isn't Disney per se - the problem is much more deeply rooted than that. Look at ancient Greek plays and stories, they also hold a great deal of "one true love"-ideology. I'm inclined to believe that the problem is rooted somewhere in male psychology. Have you read the "men in love" side-bar material?

Aladdin is not though. It's the story of a street rat who was hardcore enough that he managed to get a princess to fuck him. Come on now, he does all sorts of alpha shit during the movie. Takes her on planned dates where he makes all the decisions on a magic carpet (gives her the tingles), takes out the bad guy and saves her family and her.

I mean how is that movie a blue pill movie? It's MMSL to a T. He makes all the decisions and she defers to him every time.

Honestly though these are children's movies, getting angry over a fantasy is ridiculous.

Although with Mulan, it did have some funny underlying jokes about her and some RP. Her Chinese name Fa Ping, is actually a play on a term in Chinese for "Eye Candy". And she shows respect for her family. She returns the sword and tokens to her father as an act of submission. She's not the typical female, but if you watch she goes from honoring her father, to then honoring her husband. In Disney standards its practically sexist! lol.

Remember that it is for children.

I don't think I could tell a young boy in my family, that people want him to be a quiet, grateful worker. And that no one cares what he thinks, unless he becomes an experienced alpha male. You have to wait a while to tell kids the bitter truth. Most of us are much older, and most of us had problems swallowing the truths.

Edit: New Disney movies are probably full of feminism. As always, companies want to milk the wallets of families, and to do that they need to be accepted by the current culture.

My guitar teacher asked me if i would take a part in a show (we did the accompanying music) that he and the local amateur theater group put together for Children's day. I said okey, why not. A ~50 something old literature teacher "wrote" the story (female). So here is a tiny portion of the plot:

father and daughter lives together
local gardener has a special black tulip
the little bitch wants that type of flower, so
she sends her father to get one for her
daddy fails, comes home empty handed, she is mad
she goes over to the gardener, and she tries to seduce him with her beauty, asking for the black tulip nicely.
the gardener refuses her, just like he did with her father
she becomes furious, demanding the flower, because she is beautiful, and she asked for it nicely
she eventually gets the flower.

I was fuckin mad every time we did the practice for the play, because i had to listen to this story. We did this show for kids who were in kindergarten. I mean what the fuck. Little girls are conditioned (with this story also) to use they Pussypass this early. Be a girly girl, and ask men to do stuff for you. If they refuse to do this, get mad, and blame them for hurting your feelings. Honestly every time i heard this story i would like to interrupt the practice and ask the teacher what is the meaningful lesson of this part of the story?! I decided to not confront her, because it would be meaningless other then listening her hamstering.

I recently saw Maleficent recently. It had an interesting take on the whole story but also had a huge fucking character development flaw. Maleficent is being hunted by the king and he orders all his knights to kill her in return for the kingship when he dies. Maleficents childhood friend uses his relationship to get close to her and essentially roofies her (collective feminist gasp). He had warned her before that others would never stop trying to kill her before she PTFO. He pulls out knife but cannot kill her out of love so he cuts off her wings as proof of the kill. She goes ape shit after and basically it's a man bash after that point.

Albeit, it's a really shitty thing to do, but he did save her life by claiming she was dead. He now controls the kingdom so he had no reason to finish the job and could call off others. The dynamic between the two should have been much more conflicting and gut-wrenching fashion, but let's not make the characters dimensional at all. No, fuck that dude is evil evil evil. She's good. The end. $10 please.

I watched A Million Ways to Die in the West recently - that was the most RP / BP film I've ever seen. I love Seth MacFarlane but holy shit.. it was almost unbearable at times.

I can see why some people may say these things, but I don't think Disney is in on some grand conspiracy to betafy kids. Plenty of 'naturals' watched these movies growing up and ended up just fine. It's all nature and nurture and places like this help guys who need to get it together. All of this is a tough pill to swallow, I know it was for me. I can't really personally blame the media for my issues, but that's just me.
