The Valley has bought into the idea of itself as a meritocracy: a world of self-starting, bootstrapping geniuses so much better and smarter than anyone else in the world that they deserve wildly disproportionate opportunities for wealth and power. The problem is that this is the exact opposite of what Silicon Valley actually is: a sexist and racist wealth distribution mechanism that relies on cronyism, corruption, and exclusion to function.

Obviously, programmers are important, but a very common dysfunction, particularly at technology startups, is privileging programmers.

There is reason why smart tech companies treat their engineers as their most important asset. That's because they are. If tomorrow every HR drone women would not show up to work at Google it wouldn't matter that much. But if Google would lost all of their programmers, they would be screwed.

Feminists never create value themselves, but afterwards they want to get share of that value nevertheless. Some time ago feminists were furious because there were no women of The Board of Twitter. But it's not like these men got there just by accident, they are there because they took risks as founders, investors and employees when Twitter wasn't yet successful. Something that women never do because of their herd-mentality. There are lot of rich women, but it's not accident that almost all (especially successful) angel investors are men. Most of women are unable to be contrarian.
