Long story short: I woke up this morning, fixed myself a nice breakfast, and sat down to see what kind of shit-shows have gone down in here over the weekend. And as it turns out, we've had no fewer than eight, yes eight chucklefucks posting threads asking for advice. Advice on how to deal with a girl, advice on how to do with a girl at work, etc, etc. (On a side note, I notice this tomfoolery usually happens over the weekends, when the mods are off doing other shit, which makes me think the people doing this know exactly what the rules are and just DGAF.)

And if you have the compunction to ask,

"Well, Mr. Tower-man, what is so wrong with that?"

Then I invite you to voluntarily ban yourself until you familiarize yourself with the rules. That being said, I'm going to say this once and only once:

Posts related to seeking advice for a personal situation that you are dealing with belong in /r/askTRP. Period, dot, end of story, no exceptions. If you lay eyes even lazily on the sidebar, you see a link that is phrased "Personal Questions/Advice"? that links you conveniently to the proper place for your question.

I've been being a benevolent dictator and letting offenders off with a warning for the past 6 months, but that will no longer be my policy on this. No more warnings, because it seems nobody responds to warnings.

Henceforth,

  • first time offenders will receive a ban seven (7) days in length
  • second time offenders will receive a ban thirty (30) days in length
  • third time offenders will have proven themselves retarded enough to be permanently shown the door

So I urge all of you, to ask yourself one simple question before hitting that "SUBMIT" button:

Will this advice-seeking post benefit the entire community, or does it benefit only me and my particular situation?

And if you have any doubt in the matter, I suggest you err on the side of scooting your ass over to the proper forum for advice-seeking, /r/askTRP.
