I've noticed that there are not very many good looking feminists. Typically women with issues will try to hamster those issues into being something good rather than bad. You rarely see hot girls whining about "where are all the good men" or trying to rationalize what they think guys should do, and that's because they're usually busy fucking Alpha McFuckhard, so why should they worry about such things? They're having a great time. These types of posters are usually angry and bitter because they can't get the attention of said Alpha, and so they rationalize why that's not important.

The Rational Male has a great discussion on this. It's what Rollo defined as a buffer which is an easy way keeping potential hits to the ego at arms length.
Men have these too. Beta men will scoff at well dressed men and dismiss them as "gay," so they don't have to tell themselves "this could be a higher quality man than myself."
Women have similar mechanisms except the buffers themselves have become the status quo so they are much more easily trumpeted. Thus, other women are "damaged," "low self-esteem," or "sluts" if they in any way show an inkling of organic attraction to a higher value man.

I have a trick for identifying the male hamster: when you start constructing a narrative explaining events, flip your preferred outcome and see if you are equally good at explaining that too. Then you know you're just rationalizing.
Big thing I realized is that there aren't good reasons for most of what I do. Reasons are bullshit most of the time... just politics and narrative. It's why planning and even Machiavelliansm are crucial skills: you won't act for any reason at all if you don't plan.

Flipping around all sorts of feminist truths is the best thing I ever did. Not to get all mens-rights on you, but as soon as I figured out that women were the entitled ones and men were the ones that namely had to work harder things. Men weren't entitled to shit. Feminism's gender narrative started to break down entirely as I re-read history and started forming gender-informed behavioral models.
Just about everything that comes from Feminism these days has the sort of mind-fuckery that narcissists use.
(Side note: Narcissists are usually female. Although, that could be because more men are considered sociopaths rather than narcissists when exhibiting similar behavior.)

I find it interesting how the actual barriers to increase value are going down, but the self-imposed barriers are going up.
Dressing well doesn't cost significantly more than dressing poorly. If you account for the difference in material benefits directly derived from perceived status, it's cheaper. More people are becoming more lax instead.
Being fit is cheaper than endless snack food costs, medical bills, and being a fucking fatass. More people are becoming more like landlocked narwhals instead.
Education via the Internet is cheaper and arguably better than the formal education of yore. More people are becoming indentured servants instead. By the way, have you heard that the average student debt is now thirty thousand dollars?

I have one.
A combination of effects from:
"Dressing well" opposition is mostly because socially awkward and weird types (the Elliot's of the world) are usually one of the first males who try this. At least, in my grade-school and high-school, the weird ones were either the best groomed or greasy because their parents weren't there or were extremely hands-off.
Being fit is hard especially for young boys/men. The food industry is trying to get you to eat their food so they focus on the lowest common denominator (which admit it - is your favorite too. Also, food/health education is complete shit in this country. The food pyramid is still a joke. In the U.S. most schools either have shitty over-priced unhealthy food or tasty unhealthy fast-food options. You have to work hard to change the habits you formed as a child - most people can't do this.
There is no significant increase or decrease in the amount of distractions, but there are better distractions. I think movies, TV, and internet are getting better... at holding our attention at the lowest common denominator. Usually, these distractions had information about how to live a better life by showcasing virtuous actions (in a Plato/Socrates way or 'classic' Red-pill - not exactly beta-altruism and escapism). Now, these examples barely scratch the surface of TV/Movies/Internet.
I have a theory that the internet (news, politics [tumbler, blogs, etc.], and games) is actually probably the absolutely worst for development. And I say this as a lifelong gamer who always defended it from everything. It puts your social understanding and experience in carbonite. Combine that with feminism's uses a lot of double-meanings and girl-power secret meaning's that beta's honestly don't get because of a lack of female interaction and they interpret the bible like an Evangelical instead of like the mystic. The amount of natural manipulation combined with giving girls canned narcissistic socially-approved responses corners beta's into their pay-for-pussy gender role. The only way to get pussy for most beta's is through college. Women go there for a quantum juxtaposition of alpha-one-night-stand promise, feminist girl-power, and better social status. (A small amount go for career. But, they are few which is socially mindbogglingly crazy considering they're about 60% of the students there.) If you listen throughout history - it's stated that women are bad-with-money as social truth. And if you have no experience with wide range of women; it sounds misogynistic and horrible. But, understand their emotions and experiences and that's a distilled truth of their behaviors, expectations, and values from the collection of their experiences (i.e. they parachute into the lives of unfortunate, lonely men and get them to pay for shit and they value social status as a narcissistic sexual fetish).

Education via the internet isn't going to help you find a job, unless you're a self-employed programmer/graphic designer or similar.
$30k is pocket change if you're going into a well-paying field with a marketable degree. The trick is to make sure that the degree will pay for itself. None of that communications or ethnic studies bullshit.
Don't settle for less because you're afraid of that you'll be in a little debt for a while. This is your fucking life's work we're talking about.

I know precisely what you're thinking. The reality of the situation is that the average college graduate faces $30,000 of un-dischargeable debt and the opportunity cost is four years of productive employment. According to the government: ~17% of recent college graduates are underemployed, and 44% of those who are employed are working jobs that don't necessitate having the education that they do.
Let's assume that you're 95th percentile aptitude in relation to the overall population. Maybe you're better than that, but this is a good evaluative point. Let's say that you manage to obtain a 95th percentile job. I highly doubt that 5% of grads walk out of college and immediately into a 95th percentile job, but I'll suspend my disbelief for a moment. A 95th percentile job provides an income of $87,000. After taxes, that becomes $65,000.
What's a reasonable time frame for repayment? Five years? With an (eminently reasonable) interest rate of 5%, that $65,000 becomes $61,000. And that's if the loans were subsidized. Imagine if they were accruing interest over those four years of college. That $61,000 becomes $57,000. Average out the last nine years you've spent of your life, and how much did you make per year? $32,000? Oh.
"You're only 27 or 28," they say. "You're only 27 or 28--you don't know what's ahead of you!"

True, but 27 really isn't that old. The hope is that by the time you're 40 the debt looks like a joke compared to what you now make. If the 40k with interest and the 4 years for a college degree really held you back, then you probably weren't going to do much better with a HS diploma, let's face it.
People like to pretend that they'll be making 6 figures with all that time they saved not going to college but the reality is much different. You could be one of the lucky ones, but you probably won't be. Lifetime earnings for someone with an engineering/nursing or similar degree absolutely destroys a HS graduate, debt or not.
In the end, if your career doesn't require a college degree and your time is better spent learning and working, then it would be stupid to go to college. But not many careers are like that.

I see what you're saying, and it makes sense from a certain perspective. That certain perspective being that you have the ability to "make it"--the intelligence, motivation, and frame of mind necessary to climb the hierarchy. Let's face it: most people don't, and college isn't going to magically fix that. That is reflected in the graduation numbers: only 56% of students graduate within six years.
For those who do graduate, the whole $30,000 debt thing is a really big deal when their average starting salary is $45,000. Overall, college debt has quintupled over the last 10 years or so. Yes, five times. From ~$250 billion to $1.2 trillion.
Overall, either the students are failing the school system, or the school system is failing the students. Whichever it may be, this is one of the most egregious transfers of wealth in modern history.

It has been my experience that the most outspoken feminists are the ones that most men wouldn't want to touch, either by physical appearance or social status.
This is so true. Modern feminism is basically a movement for ugly women. They don't benefit from males' interest or from gender roles the way that attractive women do, so they put up a fuss and demand protection and special privileges from the government instead.

These women include medical doctors (and other advanced degrees), nurses, fitness models, artists, school teachers, and a plethora of other women. It is because some women hate women. Men may respect some women or not respect others, or maybe judge women too harshly. But women can truly hate their own kind - it is a form of solipsism. Their own thoughts and feelings - how they perceive themselves - is how they perceive other women. They know firsthand what it is to be a low value, undesirable, fuckzoned, pumped and dumped girl on the carousel. They hate that about themselves. So naturally, nothing quite parallels the hate they have for other women of the same nature (and the envy they have for better women).
