Start A Meditative/Repetitive Morning Routine

Here's a completely separate question I was considering posting in asktrp.

How the fuck do you wake yourself up in the morning. I keep missing workouts right now due to long work schedules and I've decided in the morning before work is a lot better of a prospect than after work and too tired to give a shit about doing it properly. But doing it in the morning while still half asleep is a recipe for disaster and injury. How do I jolt myself awake?

I'd rather get as much sleep as possible. An extra hour of sleep does more for me mentally than any ritual could.

I make oatmeal and coffee, sit on my computer and look up Trumps twitter every morning.

I agree with this. I usually meditate and get a little reading done first thing in the morning. I know people who drink water as soon as they arise to flush their body out. As long as I'm making small steps forward daily, I feel good. There's a saying, "People overestimate what they can do in a year, and underestimate what they can do in a decade."

Meditation is next to impossible for me to do. ADD + Introversion. I'm basically failing at redirecting my thoughts to my breath for 10 minutes before giving up.

I started at 10 minutes and every morning I increased with 1 minute. Every time I finish I feel like I "improved" myself and it's very satisfying.

Please tell me your experience with cold showers. How long have you been doing it, and what effects has it had on you? Also, is there any scientific evidence to back up the benefits? I did some basic research and could not find any. I'm not discrediting the benefits but I was looking into it in the past and couldn't find anything to convince me to do it. Thanks for this post BTW, it's just what I needed right now.

wake up, hang from pullup bar for 30 to 60 seconds while squeezing that bitch for dear life as hard as you can. tightly gripping = forces you to wake up.

next, drink 2 glasses of water to get your brain its hydration

then hit a 15 minute Contrast Shower where you alternate between 3 minutes of Hot water, and then 1 minute of freezing cold. FINISH on the cold water.

Next, pour yourself some hot Green Tea (real leaves) and/or black coffee (no added bullshit).

In no less than 20 minutes you will be ready to take on the day with indomitable will and alertness.

Every other routine is trivial and gay.

Sorry but I don't agree with you. I used to meditate of course. The thing is it'gets you nowhere ! Even worse, it inhibits the survival instincts as if your life ends up like very soon. Of course society is stressfull and can be harsh sometimes but trust me guys by meditating you only make things even worse. Is such circonmstances you need a strong spirit & body, and a well organized mind. You have to elevate your vibrations by motivating yourself to look after your next best version, instead of lowering them by meditation ! Every morning I go for il little run with some great music in my ears than a shower and breakfast. At work I feel energized, focus and amazingly aware. I don't drink coffee, tea by the way or any bullshit drink but I do eat a lot of carbs as whole foods most of the time
