We were on a vacation last week, a vaction that I spent hours and hours planning because I wanted it to be perfect for her. And indeed, in my humble opinion, it was. Actually, it was just like our last vacation, that I spent even more time planning to make it perfect for her, and even did a ton of stuff so she could check off some stuff on her bucket list and made some siginificant sacrifices so it'd be affordable. The gaslighting here is kind of unreal. This is a form of mental abuse some of you will recognize if you have read the sidebar where you can read some commentary on gaslighting and how women practice deceptiveness and Machiavellianism to get what they want, because that is their natural default setting.

I certainly don't do any of these things for sex (I already know there will never be any sex, but I do them anyway), but it stings to hear some kind of appreciation juxtaposed with constant rejection of quite literally the only thing I've asked for in this relationship.

I've brought this up many times (see my submission history if you're curious), but we finally had the big "talk" in April. I said it's clear we aren't right for each other, and it's probably best to go our separate ways, and that we were better at being friends than boyfriend and girlfriend. She started crying and said, she'd do whatever it takes to make me happy, even if it meant having sex every single day, because I'm "worth it" and "she doesn't want to lose me over this." Then she started sobbing again and nuzzled my chest and said, "Please don't break up with me. Don't leave me. We can fix this." I'd never seen her so vulnerable, and of course seeing someone I care about be so hurt and scared (the next few days she was constantly worried and scared that if she did even the slightest thing wrong I'd break up with her) pulled my heartstrings, and maybe I made the wrong decision but I said we can try to work this out.

It's been three months, and virtually nothing has changed. She did halfheartedly initiate once or twice, once I turned her down (it's hard to get into it after constant rejection), and the other time she gave me a half hearted blowjob on our anniversary (I didn't finish) after I went down on her and she came.

Lessons Learned

Never go full beta. Never keep a LTR that is sexless.. Don't beta provide. Only provide when you are getting what you want in return. Never be too thirsty that you develop full blown acute Oneitis. You are the prize, she should feel lucky she is with you, not the other way around. You can do everything "right" and end up just like this guy.
