Assigning one definition to the word 'alpha' is implausible at this point - it is a nuanced term. The definition of alpha I will use for the post is "a purposeful man, striving to develop himself intellectually, spiritually, physically, socially and financially." You can see how each of those is positively impacted by working on the other, to the point that they form your individual microcosmic ecosystem if you choose to view them separately but as dependent aspects of life; they have a symbiotic relationship.

For leisure, I read Carl Jung's work and insights on the shadow - which is the unknown dark side of the personality, where behaviours that were discouraged in your childhood were relegated. In many cases, this is where alphas and betas are made. There are behaviours that in your childhood were discouraged by those around you of out of ignorance, out of envy or out of contempt. These behaviours, later in life, would translate to self-confidence, risk-taking, standing up for yourself, being conscientious, having self-discipline e.t.c. Carl Jung makes an even more interesting point, that this shadow manifests itself in a variety of ways that may be different for each individual - but invariably destructive behaviours. This quote sheds more light on that:“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” This goes for many beta behaviours. In feminised society, behaviours like being overly confident, being self-reliant, improving oneself, being assertive and anything that may be perceived as taking control of one's life are frowned upon when coming from a man. In one's childhood, they submit to this, for they are incapable of realising the motivation behind the demonising of such behaviours. What is left, for betas, is a shell of a man - a nice guy, devoid of masculinity and any behavioural traits that are important for progressing oneself. Many of the traits that would have been good for them as an individual have been relegated to the shadow, or dark side. A manifestation of this are destructive behaviours like addiction, hedonism, porn and masturbation. At this point, I blame noone for being beta but I find joy in the fortunes of those who become alpha, for they are at a significant advantage. I blame those who stay beta after reaching a level of self-awareness that predicates engaging in radical self-transformation.

Integrating the shadow thus becomes an important stage in liberating oneself from this undue influence for without this process, its manifestations are inescapable. It is necessary then to not only try to use TRP methods of raising SMV - lifting, eating well, reading, meditating e.t.c - but to develop a two-pronged approach that includes you examining your upbringing and developing the courage to integrate those parts of your personality that you were scolded for exhibiting in your youth. You must use conventional TRP methods along with integrating your shadow. This must preferably be done during monk mode.

The purpose of this is to integrate positive behaviours that may have been relegated to your dark side due to feminised upbringing, or less conspiratorially, ignorance, envy and contempt on the part of your parents or whoever raised you. A friend I discussed this point with added that to be alpha is to have what he termed "a quiet evil" that moistens women. This "quiet evil" comes from intergrating one's shadow. His reasoning is correct, but not the terminology. Calling it an evil, albeit "quiet", adds connotations of it going against morality or ethics. This is what Neitschze described as slave morality - basing good and bad on "righteous vs evil" scale, instead of master morality which bases it on a good consequences vs bad consequences scale; effectiveness vs ineffectiveness. This "quiet evil" then, is not an evil at all, for it produces good consequences, if one wants to attach morality to it. My opinion of it is that it's amoral; neither good or evil, it simply is.

Conclusion

The good traits that were relegated to your shadow may have given you success as you grew. If you don't integrate your dark side, you'll be less than you're capable of - which isn't alpha, for to be alpha is to be a maximised version of oneself.
