Fucking disgusting. The fact that they have the audacity to bring in fucking "switched at birth" bizarro stories as equivalent to dubious paternity shows how deeply unqualified they are to be "ethicists".

Fortunately, the can of worms is open, and cannot be shut. Any man with doubt and a minimum of common sense can send off for a DNA test.

Considering the fact that cuckolding men has historically been a female strategy, I find it odd that the male author of this article chose to consult women almost exclusively--that's like writing a piece about environmental issues but only consulting industrialists and mining CEOs. This is just terrible journalism.

I've never heard of an ethics panel recommending withholding the truth under any circumstances. He went in for a cancer screening and we found an STD, but let's not tell him because it might embarrass his girlfriend. Any ethics that advocates doctors' nondisclosure of truth is total BS.

This is a long-winded way of people saying "Don't tell fathers when their kids are not theirs, as disclosed by genetic testing." The fig-leaf of discussing switched birth incidents is included, but that is such a rare occurrence, I discounted it as a real consideration.

Because you know that if there was a 3-10% rate of children being switched on mothers in the emergency room, as there seems to be for fathers deceived about paternity, women would be screaming for mandatory assurance testing for newborns they take home. Oh, and someone else would pay for it.

The answer is simple: anyone contributing a DNA sample for testing is asked at the time they submit the sample, whether or not they would wish to know if an issue of non-parentage arises. It's no more difficult than adding a disclosure to the consent form "letting the parents of patients know that these facts can generally be found in the course of a test but will not be revealed to them."

Come on, this is beta talk! Who will raise your alpha kids, if every beta knows you fucked his wife? This will result in YOUR kids having messed up families and difficulties growing up, not to mention fewer alphas in the long run. So it's not only bad for your progeny, it's bad for the whole humanity, you high value male, you.
