Summary: My office has a Nigerian cleaning lady. She is very outspoken and open about her believes. Blue-pill colleagues hamster away her opinions.

Body: Every monday a Nigerian lady cleans our office. She has been living in my west-european country for a few years. We sometimes have conversations with her when we go and fetch a coffee and she is cleaning the break room.

Things she has has said to me or other office workers:

  • The man should lead in a relationship and make the important decisions. She wants a strong man in her life.
  • She is very proud of her son and expects him to succeed in his soccer career and studies.
  • She got angry at her daughters when they shaved their legs. She wants her daughters to find a wealthy man. Apparently hairy legs is seen as attractive in Nigeria.
  • She advised me to find an african women, because they have the best curves, are good cooks and are submissive. But she did warn me about them wanting a very strong man.

Ofcourse these opinions don't go down well with a few of my colleagues. There response is a mixture of disbelieve, her being indoctrinated by an inferior culture and "things don't work like that in this country". I have one particular male co-worker who tries really hard to hamster away her believes, grilling her about who makes decisions regarding her children and her standing up for herself against her husband. She seems unfazed and doesn't budge.

I actually find it very pleasant to talk to her. She gives decent advise about women and is honest about what she wants out of life. This is a very refreshing change from all (native) women in my country. Maybe I should go and find myself an african women.

Lessons learned: Most man cannot accept that women have different wants and needs, even when it is coming directly from the horses mouth.
