Just a quick about me. I'm 27, married with a 1 yr old daughter. Found this sub because my marriage was going through a turbulent phase because I made some piss poor decisions. Marriage counselor suggested NMMNG and I ended up here. Doing the sidebar. I used to love lifting but in pursuit of my career and other responsibilities I made excuses to not lift. I've started lifting again, I've lost 20 lbs so far, finished NMMNG and started WISNIFG. Just wanted to say that because I know I've still got a ways to go and I'm just beginning.

Here's the meat of my post though. In March of this yr I had a real falling out with my father. He disrespected my wife. When I confronted him about it he wanted to turn it into a physical altercation like he did when I was a teenager and would challenge him on things. I obviously didn't engage in that but a lot of words were exchanged. Eventually he went behind my back and tried to get the babysitter to give my mother special privileges which led to me coming unglued again because my daughter was never off limits to my mother. Regardless, there are a lot more minor details but that's a brief run down. Towards the end of NMMNG it says that you need to confront your father and get over it basically.

I don't know how. I'm wrestling with it really hard because I know that I "should" make amends but he's never admitted to any fault he's ever had in my life and I'm fucking tired of it. I feel like if I approach this the wrong way he's not gonna get my point. It's also causing me a lot of stress because it's time for the holidays and I don't know how to handle this.
