TL:DR: reversed months of hard work. How to get back on the boil. Is it merely STFU and lift?

One of the things that led me to MRP was the fact that I spent too much time negotiating affection. I would always be requesting love as if I deserved it like a good little child.

Tonight, after a day of feeling quite low - heroin addict brother, nearly died - I said to SO that I want to be more connected with her and that I feel she only really truly connects with the children. She responded with some serious stuff essentially saying that I spend too much time talking about 'us', and that it does the opposite of making her feel attracted to me. She also displayed quite obviously that she has pretty much emotionally checked out by saying that if I want another type of relationship then I should find someone different.

Talking about 'us' is something that I have been working hard NOT doing over the past three or so months. I've lost a few pounds, gained some definition and been generally owning a lot more shit round the house. I'm pleased with this progress.

Is the progress now lost? Have things been set back to the drawing board? I feel like I'm still happy with how I've progressed but wanted to ask some people with more experience.
