If I’m on business in the city I have no problem opening random girls. But 95% of my time is spent in my small home town.

Yesterday on my lunch break I spotted this chick who was ‘ovulation dressed’ despite it being freezing outside. She spotted me and gave me an obvious IOI approach invitation. I was about to open her when a little voice in my head said “what if she’s part of your wife’s social circle? Or if one of her friends happens to walk past?”

This is the problem with living in a small town. We do it for the kids’ lifestyle but it’s not conducive to picking up women even if just catch and release. You could fuck up your kids lives just by asking the wrong girl for a number, or at the wrong moment. Funnily enough I did see 2 of my wife’s friends on the walk back to the office which hammered home the point.

My instinct is to open, and sometimes I just do it, but then my brain races forward to ‘what’s the point of this interaction - where will it lead and is it worth it?’ I think it actually makes me seem not fully congruent with my actions and as a result the interactions often just fade to nothing.

Can anyone relate to this? Frustrating as there was a hot girl yesterday clearly interested in me/attracted - I want to talk to these girls and set them up as plates, but the environment holds me back.
