Depends where U dance I guess. I love my RnB, best style to really get into imo. But girls in this day n age rarely know how to dance properly 🤣🤣

salsa.

in our county (usa) you get answers like: "what, are you a bitch! why do you want to know how to dance!"

but in the latin american countries, it's part of socializing. anyone will dance with nearly anyone. and if you cannot even lead a basic dance partner, it's a big stigma.

so if you ever plan on visiting the lower half of the western hemisphere, or go to Miami, or go to a club in your area that isn't EDM or RnB, know how to salsa.

don't go for the hookups, classes can be awkward, go to learn. if you meet someone, cool, but go to learn. i did in my mid 20's and glad I did. i don't use it often, but even in the states, when i can break into a proper salsa there is not a /single/ woman swaying with a dude doing the "white man's overbite" thinking: boy, i am sure glad my guy can't do that! bzzzzz.

If you can dance, you can fuck. that's what they're thinking.

it's fun, have fun, learn a skill.

If the point is to be able to walk up to a girl and impress her, I wouldn't recommend your 4 choices. For easy but impressive ways to learn how to lead a woman, here is what I would recommend for minimal time:

Bachata - straight forward step on the beat dance (similar to salsa, but you're not trying to pick the cowbell out the entire time). Pros is that it is very simile and has a large Latin culture to back it up. Can be used with many degrees of touch.
West Coast Swing - step with the beat dance. I learned this in college and was a type of dance that was easy to pick up, challenging to master. Pros is that you really can't screw it up as everyone has their own style. Just make sure that you learn a few basic moves and are willing to pick up a few things along the way. Blues is also good because you can do it to about any type of music.

Bolero, country, salsa, tango?

Not familiar at all with bolero. From the 5 minutes of youtube I watched, I wouldn't recommend as there seems to be a very specific structure to the dance. Country wouldn't necessarily be bad, it's just not as interesting imo. More than likely you're going to be doing a two-step which doesn't give much kino, or you're going to borderline/full swing dancing which takes time, and trust, and preferably not dropping your partner. Salsa isn't a bad choice, but I have found that it can be challenging for most to pick up the steps in rhythm with the music. Would not recommend tango. Never done it, but it is a lot of very focused work with usually one partner.

YEs its for girl-seducing

So while you should be shunned for wanting to learn something for the sake of women, my opinion is that men should know how to dance.

Also, despite wanting to learn dancing for the sake of women, you'll quickly realize that this shit is fun as fuck.

So I can't dance (well at least specific dances like salsa, yadda yadda), but I give the impression that I can dance at clubs and bars and women's eyes literally sparkle when they're being swung around and lead.

Anyways, learn West Coast Swing. Bunch of spinning, push pull, swaps, letting go and twirling. It's all about rhythm (dancing TO the music, simple as stepping to the beat), and keeping the momentum.

I say West Coast swing because it's the closest thing to what I know how to do. I'm polish and our communities always organize functions ("zabawy" or "imprezy") where all you do is drink and dance to disco polo. I'm 21, living in Canada, but I applied this same type of dancing to nightclubs and bars and the results have been very rewarding (although mind you, you can't swing girls around to a lot of popular trash played at clubs nowadays... I dislike country music, but country clubs are perfect)

I really want to learn to dance, but literally just behind a set of decks while DJing. I don't get nerves, even on a massive festival stage, but I always feel awkward.

You don't need to be a pro at all. Just have some rhythm and most importantly just have fun with it. You can have crazy moves, but if you look like you're not having fun or just trying to impress someone, people/girls pick up on that and it doesn't come across well.

But you could look completely crazy and just have fun and girls will love it.

Once again.. having fun with it is key.

Not a very TRP response here but you'll get more miles learning to dance for personal enjoyment and fun, the women will notice this and be more attracted to you.

The guys who are in salsa classes literally only to pick up girls tend to stick out and it can be quite obvious.

Try different dance styles and see what you end up liking the most, and what type of clubs/communities your club has. You might have to try a style multiple times and try different clubs because not all classes/clubs are the same.

Honestly having a general sense of rhythm, and knowing how to lead, is more than enough. But Salsa, etc clubs are highly social environments with a lot of hooking up. Salsa, like other partner dances, teaches you how to lead, which you can do to any music and dance styles.

In white culture dancing seems to have been stomped out of being a social sport aside from ballet and drunk fist pumping. Dancing in most other cultures is something that brings community together, de-stress, and allows us to tap into our most primal form of expression. Getting laid from it is just the topping on the cake.

If your whole approach to dance is just desperately getting laid without any interest in the music, culture, or movement, you won't enjoy it as much and it will show. Dance is an amazing hobby that can open many doors.

I’ve done several dance pro am competitions.

Salsa, West Coast Swing, and Bachata are what I recommend. Night club 2 step, Tango, and Rumba next level.

Salsa is popular worldwide and teaches you everything you need to dance. Footwork, body work, arms, everything. Plus you can go anywhere, not speak the language, and just have fun.

Bachata is very common with salsa, depending on the club, they might play more bachata songs than salsa songs. Bachata is much more sexual. It’s got a lot of grinding and touching in it so it’s a lot more sensual, but not as popular and probably a steeper learning curve. Kizomba and Zouk are even sexier versions of bachata.

West Coast Swing is silky, and popular in Western Music. It’s a very modern dance and can be a lot of fun and also popular. Probably similar in popularity to bachata or maybe a bit less. It’s a classic dancers dance, meaning most people don’t usually start out with it, but it has a very easy learning curve and is very common with american pop songs.

Night club 2 step is more for old people, but it’s a romantic dance if you’re into it.

Tango will make you a really good dancer, and girls love it, but it’s hard for both of you if they don’t know it and it’s not massively popular outside Argentina.

Rumba is another latin style that’s growing in popularity. It will make you a very good dancer.

Those last 3 are all not particularly common tho.

Depends on what you’re looking for in a dance, but you usually end up learning Bachata and Salsa together, and also can’t go wrong with West Cost

Back during college, I joined the Latin dance club and learned salsa, bachata, and rueda. Im Asian American and there weren’t many Asian dudes interested in learning how to dance other than break dancing at the time so I wanted to be unique. It came in handy living in NYC post grad as a young bachelor when going to nightclubs and Spanish mix pop music were just starting to take hold in place of rap and hip hop; and all I did was go up to girls showing IOIs and ask if they wanted to dance with me. Literally all you have to do is teach them the fundamental basic steps, take them through slow movements in the beginning, and just lead them through since that’s what The man’s role is in most forms of dance. It worked well because no other guys would know how to dance and you’d steal the spotlight every time and make the girls that rejected you initially have major FOMO.

I loved Latin dance because it also gives you a legitimate excuse to get up close and personal, touch them intimately and show that you can lead. Other dance forms are okay, but nothing looks as sensual as Latin dances. It’s foreplay on the dance floor. And there’s some science jumbo jumbo behind dancing being linked to sex or something.

Edit2: don’t learn how to dance for the sole sake of seducing. Learn because you’re passionate about it. Youll put in genuine effort. Learn because you want to be a good dancer, and the girls will eat it up as a side effect. It paid off pretty well for me.

Tango looks cool as fuck. It's smart to learn something like that for meeting women. I tried once in both tango and salsa classes but got bored too quickly and went back to the gym and bjj classes. I couldn't do it.

Bachata and tango (I dance both). If you go to a dance academy, you'll be dancing in 3 to 6 months. If you are in Brazil, you may also want to try Sertanejo Universitario. The advantages of all these dances is that you get to embrace and touch the girl with the excuse "we are just dancing". Good for kino and starting a conversation when the music stops. Of course these days unfortunately all social dancing and dancing academies are suspended. But when things go back to normal, that's what I advise you to try. Source: Personal experience. I have been dancing for 6 years now. It changed my life, for the better.
