New career at 25?

Before you 'pick' something.. I advise to first decide what you want out of your life and your career.

What does your dream life look like? What is a great work day look like? What does your evening look like on that work day? What is your weekend like?

For all we know your dream career could be being a highschool teacher, a custom swimming pool builder, a car salesman, a computer programmer, a pilot, a lawyer, a police officer, a construction project manager, or many other things.

If you say you want to be able to live in Malibu and drive a porsche convertible in 15 years, you'll get different answers if you say you like casual rural living and just want your weekends off to hunt with your buddies.

Go apprentice under someone doing a skilled trade. Go work in a kitchen/construction/whatever. Go learn something at a trade school. Go into debt for a university degree. Go join the army. There're a lot of options.

I obtained my BA in Criminology. Wanted to and applied to be a cop to one of the best departments in the nation. I was DQ'd towards the end of the process and provided no reason why despite my best efforts to contact them multiple times. Shit hurt.

I eventually found a well-paying job in the construction field that allowed me to save up to begin a coding academy. I'll be turning 26 a week before I start. I'm excited for the future as I make my way towards a Software Engineering career. It's never to late to make a career change. If you can't find a job in the same field, start looking into careers where demand is high.

Become a programmer; HTML/JS/CSS/Node.js Its a pretty "sit on your ass, low stress" type of job. If you are talented and work in a nice place you get like hour long lunches to go to the gym or they have a gym in the building. Most programmers/IT are huge gym rats due to the free time. Having nothing but reddit and youtube to stare at a good percentage are health nuts or redpill.

1) Find what you want to do

2) Get a largest book on that subject (found this never tried it though)

3) Read the book, learn the stuff

4) Get a job

Be more employable. Work out what you WANT to do, what you CAN do, and what someone else will PAY you to do.

The best jobs require rare skills or rare experience. There is fuck all available for "got two hands, can learn fast". That boat sailed 50 years ago.

You need skills and/or qualifications. Get into something you can excel at over time. Career jobs often pay highly at the top (ie have a few years experience).

Sorry there's no easy answer, but there really ISN'T an easy answer.

If you qualify for military service I would recommend that. Especially if you can get into an officer program you could get a nuclear engineering degree paid for

If you enjoy working with computers, I highly recommend doing that. I fee absurdly lucky with my job I love, high salary, and unlimited vacation. I sit in front of a computer all day, I've spent years and countless hours honing my skills in front of a monitor, but I enjoy that. If you like that, can't recommend that enough. Obviously gym at lunch, etc. stay in shape.

Cnc machining is a good job with a high school diploma. You can get started as an operator and learn everything you need to know from youtube. I've been doing it for 5 years and making over 50k in a small town in southeast usa.
