You basically walk around doing a treasure hunt using an app on your phone, people leave shit around and you have to find it using the app/gps.

Great when the weathers nice you can just walk and talk and most of the hidden stuff is in parks/green areas you can sit in after

Wow both very great replies. I do want to be true to myself and let that shine outwards which will lead to an honest connection. The beach is nearby and I'd like to hang out there but it's a little cold! You know, I wanted to force it a bit and go play pool but you guys have reminded me. I am me, why be anything else? I'm going to take her to look at puppies. Hell yeah!

Is there a ski mountain nearby? Even if neither of you know how to ski, learning is a fantastic bonding experience. Or, if you know how to ski and she doesn't, even better because teaching someone to ski allows for lots of physical contact and even more bonding. Not only that but you can cuddle up for warmth, with a coffee/hot chocolate, in the ski lodge over lunch and get to know each other. I think it would make a great 2nd date.

This may sound weird, but I like grocery stores. Even before making the connection, I'd always take a girl to a grocery store on the first day. I suppose it's a comfort thing for me.

Ah, welcome to the world of instant dates. I hardly bother with asking women out later anymore, unless we're in a situation that doesn't lend itself to moving right away. Doing a date right now while the meeting is fresh is so fun and exciting. I love spontaneous and social people though, it may not be the right choice for everyone (as you saw for yourself, perhaps).

My favorite instant date location (or first date location, period) is a bookstore. Something big like Half Price or Borders or whatever book stores still exist. I'm going to be sad when they all disappear. Libraries are good too you have a library that doesn't require silenced or has a social section.

Bookstores give you unlimited topics, if you think of something from childhood you likely have access to it immediately, you can get out books of architecture or magazines or games or travel. Since I have traveled a lot, one of my favorite things to do is grab a big picture book from somewhere I've visited in the world and tell stories about places in the book.

There is endless opportunity for kino and flirting, and being around books makes everyone comfortable no matter who they are. I've not once had a date at a bookstore that the girl didn't enjoy immensely. Even had some dates that probably would have sucked because they were boring people be saved by the book store.

Why did the coffee date throw you off your game? Were there too many other people around?

Next time, try getting the coffee and then have a place ready to walk to together. Walking is fun, and it's a natural avenue to talk.

I thought about this one.

If you live in a big city, you can ride the train together and people watch. I thought about riding the train together, bringing paper and taking notes.
