Can’t figure out how to start a conversation

It's kinda tough.

People will tell you 'just say hi'. Thing is, that's just an opener (pre-opener?), not a conversation starter.

So then, you just say things like, 'how are you?', 'what's your name?' etc, but if it doesn't go anywhere, people will say you asked boring questions (but it'd be weird to open a stranger with something like ''Hey, lets talk about sky-diving!!' haha)

Only time strangers seem to have actual good convos if they are super into each other, basically. Or if teh environment gifts them with interesting things to talk about (maybe that's why PUA's target girls who are travelling. Talking about the country they're from and stuff is an easy topic that might 'catch fire' in them situations)

But some random girl on the bus who lives where you live? Harder

All you can do is say hi and either go direct and tell her you think she's cute and ask for her number, or just ask her name, age etc and see if she starts asking you things back, too. If she does, she might think you're hot and from there, the convo usually takes care of itself since she's pulling her weight and contributing

Just walk by and hand her a note that says

"What's your favorite Dinosaur?"

Just talk to her. You have like a million things to talk about here.

I'll give 3 examples that go from mundane to emotional openers.

Mundane openers are safer conversation starters but you may encounter aloofness and distance if your followup conversation is boring.

Emotional openers are immediately engaging but causes the girl to react emotionally too. If you don't know how to handle this, then it can blow you out right away.

"Hi. [introduce yourself] what are you studying?" (conversation about school)

"Hey, I've seen you before. Lets stop being strangers. Hi, I'm [introduce yourself]" (conversation about hobbies/interests)

"Hey are you stalking me? I've seen you here before" (straight flirty banter)

You could also start with more specific things that apply to her. You could ask her about her major or a home football game if it’s a football school. If you’re confident making a conversation out of those it would allow you to get to know her better while getting her more comfortable with you.

One day you should get on the bus and see if there’s a seat next to her that’s open and ask if you can sit there. If she says “yes” then you already did 50% of the hard work and are now literally sitting inches next to her. Then just introduce yourself and go on from there. You got this my guy!

"hey, I see you catching the bus with me all the time so I figured I'd come introduce myself" and now you can shake their hand. You can even be more direct and say that you find them cute as well if you are confident enough.

After the introduction you can make an assumption of what they are studying from how they look or what they are wearing or you could comment on anything else you find interesting about her (maybe she's often reading a book) or you could critique their handshake. You have plenty of ways to open up here and then just have to let it flow from there.

Observational openers usually work the best. Comment on something about her (a quirk or her style).

PS: I would also wait to get off the bus as approaching a girl in a confined space can make her feel trapped.

I recently heard about something called up out down.

It's a conversation method and I think it actually works well.

If the topic is pizza, up is food, out is hotdogs, and down is pepperoni pizza. Obviously don't talk about pizza, but just use this strategy if you run out of things to say.

My favorite opener is the opinion opener. You can look it up for better info but essentially

1) Think of something that you might both find interesting (for example let's say you know her major is life science)

2) Ask her opinion on some related topic, and make it sound legit. Not just a plain question. Make it sound as if the question is something you've legitimately been thinking about. "Hey could I get your opinion on life sci? Some of my friends seem to be having such an easy time, but I feel like if you don't become a doctor there's nothing you can really do with the degree."

3) use interesting responses to continue the conversation.

4) occasionally their answer won't be very interesting, or the conversation will stall, in which case I would try to start a conversation in a different topic she might find interesting, off the top of my head "While we're talking, I need a girl's opinion on something. If I've just started talking to a girl is it bad to not reply to her texts fast? I feel like if you leave a girl hanging too long they forget about you."

Once you ask the question make sure you listen to the response with care because otherwise you won't have anything to work with.

you could point out how you guys always meet there ''funny how we always meet here'' and from there say something like ''where are u headed'' or ''what are ur plans for today''? see if she reciprocates, if yes, see if you can get deeper into the convo, if not, you can easily let go and wont be seen as the creep . ..but im not a professional lol
