Direct vs indirect daygame?

Depends on situation.

If I am in a bookstore (Waterstones or Smiths), coffee shop, etc, I am not going to go super direct, I find it easier to go indirect, especially if in a queue or talking to a person that works in a shop.

However, if I am in a park or on the street, its probably going to be wierd if I go indirect.

Also I want to point something out. As indirect is being mentioned, I am going to guess this is aimed at MM or Annihilation method.

Yes you APPROACH indirect, to a group. However, pretty soon, after you have conveyed tales from your interesting life which demonstrate all 6 of 5 traits of the Alpha male, you move into QUALIFICATION.

This should be within 5 - 10 minutes, if that. Then once she has qualified herself, you then show interest as you are in A3 (Male to female interest). This is a KEY part, that differentiates from generic social skills (even Hayley Quinn's "Conversation Tech", has showing interest as a key part).

Anyway, not sure if this is relevent, but I have spoken to people before, who are not aware that even in indirect game, you still have to show interest. Its just the initial opener thats different, do you put them on the spot or do you let them warm upto you a bit first. However, I am sure some people think the entirety of the MM should be done indirect or something. Happy to point out page numbers, if people need further info on A3.

For the street I think direct is the best when you start and have less than 20/30 closes.

After, you will become very good and you will have your own style

I meet a lot of daygamers, I noticed the majority start by direct and then tend to go indirect.

It’s not a real dilemma. Whatever suits your liking, anything will work if you are a sorted out attractive guy. But how do you get there? Keep studying game material (inner & outer game) and go out putting it to practice. Having a friend/wing that is better than you with girls helps to expedite your progress.

Since you are new to this, I recommend you open relatively indirect and quickly (within 1-10 minutes) let your agenda be known “I find you attractive/cute and I definitely want to take you out”. I say relatively indirect because I’ve done the “I saw you from over there and had to come over to say hi” and that’s fine. You probably don’t want to go guns blazing with “omg you are fucking sexy, hi”, which can work too at a nightclub but daygame requires a softer lower energy approach.

Most importantly, don’t get discouraged by rejection. Whatever it takes. It took me years before things really clicked for me.

I'm personally of the opinion that the narrative around direct daygame is a bit of a con that everyones bought into. Its similar to a lot of PUA narrative which trys to push a magic bullet, the narrative usually is that a certain method or structure is the only way to do things, and you have to do certain things in a particular order if you want women to be attracted to you. Its nonsense.

I'm not saying that direct day game doesnt work, I've tried it and it most definitely can work. This whole notion that you HAVE to open direct to show that you have balls is a lie. Its simply one way of doing things, there are other ways of doing things that may actually work better for you personally.

Here's a video of Paul Janka opening a girl in the most indirect way imaginable by asking for directions. Despite that I personally think he displays more confidence, demonstrates more social intelligence and is more attractive than almost all of the direct daygamers you'll find on Youtube

It is not that direct or indirect is better, it is really about YOU. If you feel comfortable going direct, then go direct, but if you have a single reason why it's not okay, then don't force it and go indirect. Nothing is wrong, the idea is to start a conversation with her.

A lot of guys will say that when you go direct, you show the woman that you are bold, confident, but what if you find a different type of woman and she doesn't like it? What if instead of telling you "oh, nice confidence," she says: "So you do that a lot" or "So you're just talking to me because I'm cute" ....

People are not the same, but if you spend 2-3 minutes with a woman you can calibrate and go more direct or less direct. You have time to adjust your strategy in real time if you go indirect. Nothing wrong with telling her she's cute after 2-3 minutes, she's not going to be like: "oh, you know what? If you didn't tell me 2 minutes ago, I don't like you" .... it's ridiculous to think like that. Do whatever is easier for you.
