Me: That politician is crazy. Girl: I like this politician. QUESTION: obviously, it is sub-optimal to get in this situation.

Suboptimal for? showing her you are a weak little fuck?

Once in it, how do you salvage the interaction?

There is nothing to salvage, this is your opportunity to show her you don't give a fuck about if she likes what you say or not, you are independent of her! You are not talking to her to agree with her, you are talking with her to exchange opinions, making her feel something, and therefore if you disagree, you disagree. I have had discussions with women where i disagreed so hard they called me an asshole, but they kept on discussing, only to start to turn and say "damn, you are an asshole, but i kind of like you".

Once i discussed with the girlfriend of a good friend of mine about her donating some small amounts of money only when it's christmas, to which i stated that it's easy to do that once a year, but the sole purpose to do this is to feel better about themselves, rather than helping someone. Also i don't do that since i don't care about people i never see, i don't know etc. She was getting mad like fuck, trying to make me aggressive, insulting me, but i simply kept being calm, keeping my opinion... after an hour or so, she started coming closer and closer to me, initiating KINO, and telling me i was such a great guy, even though i was an asshole etc. All this happened with other friends and her boyfriend sitting around us.

So long story short: Be polarizing. Stand by your opinion, and only change it if you really feel like you are wrong. This way you certainly generate a lot of attraction due to your display of strength, independence, fearlessness and vulnerability.

Look, just realize that you shouldn't waver on your beliefs.

But at the same time, it's likely a waste of time to try to change her mind. Be firm about you, but there's no need to expend energy to change her. You're likely out having a good time anyway so why start a political debate?

If you want you might ask some questions as to what they think about XYZ political issues that lead you to think that Politician A is crazy.

Example: What's your stance on the banking reform that's left the financial system open for collapse again?

Then ask what the politician's stance is on that reform, or lack thereof.

And so on.

Don't turn it into an argument.

If she turns it into an argument, date better people.

You're there to have a good time and see if you click with her. Not to put on some mating display to try to impress her.

tease: exagerate , target, hostility, emotion (threes) surprise, reality - the elements of the perfect tease, she likes that politican, take something about her why she probably likes that guy and make a connection to some of the negative personality traits , for example , if that politican is green then : "they gonna switch off all nuclear power plants, you gonna scream his name when you go to bed in the evening and you realise that there is no power for your vibrator."

Whenever i'm meeting new people, I always state my thoughts and opinions from my standpoint. I think they're crazy because they remind me of... etc.

It's hard to disagree with someone when they present opinions in that way. I'd recommend trying that. If she continues iterating that she likes the candidate and/or disagreeing with you (which I doubt because that becomes awkward for both people in the conversation), then I recommend you add humor to it to lessen the seriousness of the topic. I do this ALL the time even when I'm not in a disagreement. Not only does it help fix arguments, but it helps avoid them. An example if she continues to press on about how great the candidate is: Yeah... but don't you think his eyes look evil?

It diffuses the tension. Of course there's a risk that they won't like it and think that you're weird/spineless/ignorant/etc. I know it's a risk but I haven't actually encountered it. They want to have a good time and feel good about themselves. Compliment her position somehow, make her laugh, and move on.

In my opinion, when trying to seduce someone/get them to like you, nothing is ever gained from proving them wrong.
