Do compliments work?

Some guys think of giving compliments like throwing coins into a vending machine. If I throw in a compliment, I'll get something back.

They might give a compliment and wait for the woman to react to have something to further the conversation, or they think it'll make her fall for him, compliment him back, reward him with affection.

I find compliments to come off the best in an "oh by the way" type of delivery. But really it's just a bit of verbal recognition I wanted to give her for something I actually appreciate about her, I don't sit there and hope for a response out of it.

If she's ugly: compliment her looks.

If she's pretty: compliment everything except for her looks

Tone of voice and eye contact are important as well.

Compliments about looks? They are cheap. Compliment about style and choices? You need to actually be knowledgeable about fashion and matching to make them. I find them they work better.

I recently went on a date with a girl that loves vintage movies and she wears glass frames which resemble frames worn by one of her favourite actresses of these times. She loved it.

When you give a compliment?

As an opener, especially in the night game - it is just a conversation starter, but you need a transition to a better conversation because the compliment takes 2-3 seconds to say, then ...... you need a continuation after she says "tanks". If you have no knowledge in fashion, better stay away from talking about style and clothes, give her other compliments.
If you started indirectly and you make a transition to let her know that you like her, you need a compliment to give her a clue as to why you keep talking to her and not leave after she says the directions, for example.

if she’s not sure about your value, compliments work against you.. Because it simply tell her what she already thought. That she’s out of your league.

Not really. She spends an hour in front of the mirror doing her makeup, she knows she looks good, and when you tell her, "I like your eyelashes," it is just a nice response to her makeup effort. She knows she looks good, and your compliment just reassures her that her makeup effort was not in vain. It doesn't mean that she's out of your league because you say the compliment and you go on talking, it's not like saying a compliment then admire her like a painting in a museum, it's just a kind of "by the way, nice eyelashes, it makes your eyes darker/bigger, I like it... so you said bla bla bla"....

A compliment is just to open, it’s more important what you say after to get a conversation started. If you were to say “I like your fit” and leave it at that, you will just flatter the girl, and she’ll say “thank you” and wait for you to say something else or she’ll just walk away.

If you say “I like your fit, it’s like a very Northeastern style.” you’ve given her more to respond to than just thank you.

You can also say “Hey, you’re cute. So I had to say Hi”. This will also work but now you made it 50/50. If the girl immediately finds you with the qualities she’s looking for, she’ll open. If she does not, she’ll pass you up

Compliments don't work in the sense that they create attraction. (Why would she be attracted to you just because you are?)

But they serve two important purposes:

They help you to signal your intent, making the conversation man to woman. If the interaction begins with a direct compliment from a man, she clearly knows, that he is not here just to make a friend
They make her day. If she rejects you, you still brought something positive into her world. Knowing this will help you do overcome your approach anxiety and and bring additional meaning to your approach

Compliments only work if they are genuine, and the sincerity of it emits/radiates from you. For example, I complimented this woman and I told her that I loved curly hair (she had curly hair), and the sincerity of the statement was revealed through my facial gestures because I actually meant it.

Women, people in general, can tell when you are saying something just to be nice (like a compliment) or are being sincere about what you say due to non verbal cues) .

Keep in mind, compliments do not under any circumstances have to be given to women for them to like you. Just be seductive.

When I met my girlfriend’s best friend’s mom (a 47 year old blonde milf) I said “that can’t be her mom, she’s too young” and she heard.

She compliments me every time I see her now. Both to my face and in private.

I feel like she is hot for me because of that one gesture. I did steal a pair of her underwear when house sitting one time lol

If you know she's into you, compliment

If you don't know, don't just throw them at her

Women who LIKE you want to hear a compliment from YOU.

Cuz everyone is complimenting her except you just she thinks you're gay or uninterested completely.

Never go overboard, but compliment when you honestly feel something.

And try to compliment based on her effort. She did her make up, say you think her make up looks really good

Or that you like how she put together her outfit.

Don't just say she looks nice.

But if she's I to you and you never compliment she'll question if you're into her and get sad then doubt you then probably get moody about you and leave
